There are things that cannot be described by or understood through language. A complete description and understanding of the purpose and operation of the Way is beyond the power of language.
Whether you try to reason your way through life or act through emotion, the words associated with each path can be traps, not bridges, because they hide what is common to each: the presence of mystery.
The best practice is to do nothing. The utmost practice is to ignore everything that has to do with rituals. If you think you are attracted to Taoism then you miss the point. If you try hard to become a Taoist then this is the worst type of trying. The people in the video are not Taoists, but the lowest beings, a disgrace of the Tao itself. If you need to find Tao, simply take a big breath and look at the sky.
I agree in part that the Dao does not require ritual. Ritual however is a message left behind by those who attempted to grasp the way. Perhaps we should ignor them but also the lowest of beings like water are closest to the dao. All comes from the dao. Please encourage people to connect with other dao followers as many religions could learn from the dao.
In trying to parse your sentence "we should ignor them but also the lowest of beings" I feel I do not understand with what you are saying although I agree that the Tao/Dao (which cannot be named anyway) is at the root of everything. In trying to talk about it all we achieve is moving ourselves farther from it. Perhaps we can describe it metaphorically, but preaching is not what the Way needs.
When people think about the way, the world, nature, themselves, and everything around them, they often meditate. Most forms of meditation need a focus as it's very difficult to open up totally to what can be called the Tao. Music and ritual can be that focus.
That said, I think that rituals performed at tourist attractions or for the sake of ritual are not in the least bit Taoist.
Except that you ignore the fact that traditional practices of the Dao constitutes nuances whereby ritual and music etc. alongside contemplation promote happiness and are in harmony like everything else.
Both yours and ilporko's ethnocentrism and cultural arrogance is showing. That certainly isn't what the Way needs, especially in relation to the three jewels not to mention it's a slap to the very cultural traditions which birthed the philosophy.

Other than that, nice ceremony and ritual.
