@Thaneize If I remember, this login was only available to us during beta. As soon as the game client shipped fully, it became trinity, this was gemini.

I played it in this version on a 56kbps dial-up connection. Logging in sometimes took the length of this video! And as for docking/undocking/jumping - go put the kettle on!

I've played EVE since beta, early spring of 2003 and this is still the best login song. :) I ripped the soundtrack ages ago and this is my most played song. <3

THIS is what eve always will be to me. There's something raw about the ring of that sound that gets me every time.

I always wished CCP would put out a 'retro' client to pay homage to the GUI that had the circular target icons, the dashed light hitpoint hud, and the roman subheader fonts, etc...

I miss buying 100 day, actual scratch cards at my local gaming centre... ;(

@rbellev HOLY SHIT I had the exact same idea about the retro client! You know maybe release it for 1-2 months for the newer gamers to see the origins of EvE and for the older gamers, like ourselves to experience the nostalgia! :D

@rbellev oh hell tell me about it, I bought eve a few years ago, but I never played it because the free month that was supposed to come with it didn't work :( a couple of years ago I finally started playing it and I love it and wish I'd played it sooner when I had the chance. Gemini 934 is the exact version of the client that my EVE disk installs and I have to say I really prefer this login screen to Incarna.
