The book was published in March 6, 2002 by University Press Florida. Dr. Al-Hadid and Baldwin are trying to generate an interfaith dialogue, one of the central themes in the book, even though they are using Dr. King and EL Shabazz as characters, the broader context is the inner faith dialogue. The two can be used as sources of dialogue for Christians and Muslims to break down barriers that separate them.
