Aragorn and the Hobbits arrive there 3 days after the fight, but they witness the battle from afar during the night. They describe it as seeing the hilltop crowned with lightning. At the end of the night, Gandalf flees the hill in hopes of luring the Nazgûl to chase him, rather than hunting Frodo. 4 follow him, the other 5 remain nearby (and later attack them).
