Smike The Musical 1973 BBC production highlights

I have not been able to recover the ONLY COPY of SMIKE that I was trying to copy on to my Computer . I wish there was a way to retrieve it but many Computer experts have tried --and they say that it is very sadly lost forever .

I am sorry to say that I think that I have ruined the ONLY COPY of SMIKE so I am now trying to find out if the currently EMPTY DVD is repairable in any way .

It doesn´t look good at the moment , but I will let you know if it is destroyed or salvageable --- next week .

I recorded SMIKE on SONY BETAMAX in 1973 .

I then transferred it to a DVD  so it is not perfect .

However I will sell copies of the DVD at a reasonable price .

I see some people have copies of this 1973 production I would love some one to do a copy for me I will pay any reasonable cost, we run a Stroke club and I feel that the songs would give a lift to so many, when things get tough.I don't know how to reply to other people on you tube so can't ask the ones who have the copies.HELP PLEASE

My dad wrote this with Simon May, amount of times I have begged my dad to tell me who has written what and to this day he wont tell me. I love this musical one of my fav's my dad has wrote

@Adzy9191 I recorded this from the tv on my little Hitachi cassette recorder, and listened to it for years after... but havent heard it for a long time. That gorgeous 'Smike' motif on the trumpet at 1.00 just made me cry! It was a remarkable one-off by the bbc - they never really did anything like it again.

I recorded the ORIGINAL BBC TV SHOW on BETAMAX in DECEMBER 1973 . Have since transferred it to a DVD , with a bit of Flickering involved . However not many people had a VIDEO RECORDER at that time and am not even sure if the BBC kept the original Tape , or discarded it like alot of other gems !

I have been searching for decades for this! Have you got anymore? Superb music and a wonderful BBC produciton but it seems to be lost. Not even sure if the BBC has it anymore. Hopelessly underated musical. Please someone find & get this show put onto DVD. I have the original LP!
