  • I have this game but it also has super Mario world on it. So now I have 5 good games

  • The GBA version of Super Mario Bros. 3 is titled Super Mario Advance 4 cause Yoshi's Island is Super Mario Advance 3 and Super Mario World is Super Mario Advance 2.

  • great game but the fact that nintendo re-released this as marios 25th anniversary game is just insulting. you think nintendo would go all out with the 25th anniversary of the best franchise in gaming history but NO. they released the game on the wii for $50 with no enhancements to the original game. maybe a huge modern graphical overhaul? lets hope for the 30th anniversary they do it right.

  • the orignil game wich SMB2 america is based on is called Doki Doki Panic but i think u know by now

  • I have that game Sucka's!!! haha

  • Value Village has good deals for games.

I bought The Legend Of Zelda Majora's Mask complete for $6.99!

  • I have Super Mario All-Stars and Super Mario World cart (which is of course is SMAS and SMW on the same cart) with the differences being Luigi in SMW looks like Luigi and not a pallet swap of Mario. Also the Famicom Disk System SMB2(Lost Levels) is on Wii VC and is a lot harder than the toned down one on SMAS.Also I think the battery in my cart is bad because sometimes the game goes black and random music plays I need help swapping the battery.

  • doki doki panic is the game!

  • i use to have that game for christmas along with the snes itself but i gave it all the way to funcoland aka gamstop that game was so damn good i hate missing my childhood

  • SMB 2 is a port of Dokey Dokey Panic from Japan on the Famicom.

  • also it's SMA4 w/ SMB3

  • To answer your question about Super Mario Bros. 2 (USA), that game was ported from a japanese game called Yume Kojo: Doki Doki Panic (Dream Factory: Throb Throb Panic). What is strange is that Doki Doki Panic had a couple of Mario elements in it, which were coins(also the coin sound) and the POW Block, which came from Mario Bros. (Arcade). So what was the deal with that?

  • @redx340 The 'deal' is that Miyamoto created the Doki Doki Panic game. So that's why some Mario elements are in it.

  • Also, one quick note: the GBA version of "Mario 2" wasn't a direct port. The video was the same in style, but a few new elements like "Level Clear" signs were added. Also, the audio was updated with voice actor Charles Martinet as Mario, Luigi, and Wart.

  • My sister had a copy of this, and I bought it off her for $8. I still love it, but "Lost Levels" ticks me off to no end.

  • Yeah I don't even bother with that one. WAY too hard!

  • I beat Lost Levels, it is my favourite game on All Stars.

  • @MN12BIRD you should do a video playing the lost levels.we all love to see people swear endlessly at a frustrating game.and i double dog dare you that you do the harder quest in the lost levels.

  • you can get this game with mario world

(5 in 1) for like 20 one ebay

  • theres another version that includes the super mario world with the 4 other mario so its 5 mario games pretty cool. but usuall 20 to 30 bucks expensive fuckers

  • I actually like the SNES version better than the NES version... yet I have SMB 1-3 and SMB All Stars in ROM files.

  • You're lucky, I payed $30 for this game. It was in the glass window area (which means the rare section in the store I got it at)....

  • seeing as the game isnt rare that makes sense

  • doki doki panic the mario bros 2 is

  • i payed 50$ for this game

  • was it boxed?

  • What? 30 is the maximum that I've seen.

  • can you tell me what emulator/program you use to record vids on a nes emulator ;-}

  • fraps mostly or camstudio are the 2 best u can have

  • thanx ;-}

  • You also get 5 lives instead of three. Just thought I'd point that out.

  • Isn't this the free version and the one with Super Mario World added the one that was sold in stores? Or maybe it was the other way around....

  • Hrm not sure but thats a good point I bet one was the freebie and one was the store version

  • It Wasent Advanced 2.

    Adv.1 : Mario 2

    Adv. 2 : Mario World

    Adv. 3 : Yoshis Island

    Adv. 4 : Mario 3

    There You Go

  • Great review as always loved this game

  • Intro was awesome bro.

  • Awesome compilation.

  • The game you were thinking of was Doki Doki panic

  • I could go into detail about SMB2 and the Famicom Disk System, but you probably know all about it by now

  • Had this game for the SNES, European version.

    Good times.

  • They didn't give us the original SMB 2 Because early nintendo of america THOUGHT that the game would've been too hard for players in north america. Our version was still hard, so that still didn't fix the problem. Also, our SMB 2 Originates from a famicom disk system game called doki doki panic. Also, nintendo of japan later released a famicom game called Super mario 2 USA, basicly it was just the USA version of SMB 2 ported to the famicom.

  • How comes the super nintendo logo is red on your cartridge and mine is golden?

  • The one my cousin owned had Super Mario World too. How come yours doesn't?

  • The one with Super Mario World came out later. I had to buy 20 dollars for one on ebay.

  • you mean they have miney for sale on Ebay!?

  • Wow I need to proofread.

  • Yeah, I know what you meant!

  • I got mine for $17 on Ebay

  • I just bought the Mario AllStars that includes Super Mario World too. It did cost me a hefty 23 dollars though.

  • why do my snes cartridges look different?

and yes it is a snes, not a nes.

  • You live in Australia you probably have the Japanese based Super Famicom designed SNES there.

  • ahh i see!

    thankyou :)

  • Australia gets the PAL SNES too, which looks identical to the Super Famicom except for the name.

  • no the music in mario all stars for mario 3 is slightly different in the gba version, and the area at the botton that displayed time, lives, etc. is now on top.

  • Instead Of The Sega CD Theme, Did You Use The Mario Theme?

  • are u asking if thats mario !!!!

  • where do you live and what stores?

  • I have Super Mario All-Stars, as well as the SNES Control Deck (in other words SNES Jr.)

  • i rember me and my family used to stay up for hours and take turns playing super Mario allstars! it was fun as hell

  • i believe the lost levels wasnt released in USA/Canada/UK because it was supposedly too hard. i didnt really like mario 2. mario allstars though is just a super compilation to have! my friend had a snes with nothing but this game and street fighter II when we were growing up. we NEVER got bored! its amazing.

  • Lol. I got ripped if you got this for 5 bucks. I paid almost 30 dollars for it at a flea market near me, plus 45 extra for a new SNES console, which is the entire reason I went down there. I just happened to see it and had the extra cash...but it is a truly a good game. I remember that there was a version with SMW in it too, but I've never seen one in person.

  • i keep seeing it for 50.00

  • I got this game for a 11p.

  • ha i got this game for 4 with super mario world at a sale at value village

  • SMb3 was Super mario Advanced 4...and I belive they updated a lot of soundeffects and some graphics

  • Excellent game.

  • smb2 had more then just mario and his friends there was a few grafx edits from doki doki panic.

Japan got our mario 2 as smb usa.

  • This game is awesome, and this video is pretty sweet too. I love this game i have it on my SNES, i must say though i don't much dig the american version of mario 2..it's a bit..different..

Good info on how it came about though, ported from that japanses game..hmm.

  • doki doki panic

  • That's pretty fucking sweet, get a free game? They don't do that anymore.

  • awesome i got that game for like twenty dollars just because i wanted it so bad

  • doki doki panic is the japanese original. gay.

  • its great. they did a great job on the game. a very good gae to own.

  • hey mate, i allways watch you videos, but you need to do more research before you reweiw, firstly you should of mentioned the verson with mario world, second mario 2 and 3 was ported to gba but it was not the exacly the same game, they have better lives in 2 and it was zoomed, thirdly, dokie dokie panic is easy to rember and not hard to find, the jap mario 2 if easy to find also and better then our mario 2, thanks for this,

  • and the one with mario world on has got better sprits on mario in the game, you should of mentioed about it, anyway mate, sorry to critasize i dont userly, thanks alot, keep up good console reveiws, please reply if you want, i live in england, and used to colect consoles, see ya

  • I had no idea this game even existed! Holy crap that's amazing. I would love to get my hands on this. Wow.

  • Yeah its kind of a rare game.

  • my favourite snes game has to be this, im glad you found it

super mario bros 3 is my favourite mario game and said to be one of the best along with super mario world

that usa mario 2 was EU and UK too but it wasnt really that great

there was a cart in the Eu that had i think all these and mario world added in so that was great

  • they ported doki doki panic because they thought the north american market wouldnt enjoy the original mario 2 because of its difficulty

  • Super mario brothers 2 for the GBA was actually a little different than the other versions but I dont know about the third one

  • Nice video! =)

Super Mario Advance did contain some improvements over SMB2, like occasional super-sized versions of enemies and items, voices for the characters (for better or for worse), more detailed insides of pots and five special coins to find in each level. SMB3 was in Super Mario Advance 4, and featured rather less improvements.

  • Shigeru Miyamoto and fans consider the US SMB2 to be the true sequel as he never worked on the Japanese version.

    He also hated it.

  • That's pretty smooth. I actually got "Super Mario All Stars/Super Mario World" all in one cart for $1 here cause it was the American version and not Japanese lol. They didn't want it at the store and it's 1 of 2 only games I have for the Super Nes : O

  • Eventually they ended up adding Super Mario World to this comlilation. That was later in the SNES's life though.

  • I can see why some people don't like how the Western "SMB 2" was created, but at the same time Doki Doki Pannic is a pretty good game (also created by Shigeru Miyamoto) and would probably have been difficult to market to the rest of the world had it not had the Mario makover. (probably wouldn't have been released at all)

It's a nice compilation, but I'm not partial to the makovers of SMB1 and lost levels, they lose the original charm. (I don't mind it as much in the other 2 games though)

  • daMN , i love this game have it got at a pawn shop for about $11 very worth it but not cheep

but shit when i was little i was so stupid

    when i was 9 -13 i gave super mario all-stars + world

gave it to my friend because i was nice and i already owned mario 1,2,3 and world,

    wow i was stupid

also sold my super scope 6,mike tysons punch out, captain america, breath of fire II,

    and probably more

  • $11 is cheap for this game now since the game can go for $20-$30 maybe a little more or les in some places. if it has mario world too then it would be around $40-$50 at least i think.

  • This is how we do it in cali!

  • it's nice that they redid stuff but i wish they would have gave a option to use the original graphics and sound. wouldn't think it would be that hard for them to do.

  • Mario 2 was not released in the US because Nintendo thought it was too hard for the US audience.

Mario 2 is just a conversion of Doki Doki Panic

  • I tell you something M12 I own this all mario stars game on my SNES but I thought back in the late 90's when I played it that was the original games I never realised they revammed NES versions.

  • as soon as u faded the Super Mario Bros 3 on the NES, i started remembering everything from when i was little... i love that game, and played it all the time, and i still play it! =D

  • this thing is crazy expensive here. if it has super mario world on if forget getting it for cheap. seen the one with super mario world go for at least $50.

without think around $30-$40 maybe. nee dot check again.

  • awesome i hope to get as many subs as you some day. and your making me want to play this game again.

  • this is the first game ive i first played, i love it, it made me love mario, own it but someone is borrowing it.

  • Damn you, I paid $20 for mine!

  • cool game! i still have it to this day! =)

  • hmm i remember a version with super mario world... thats odd..

  • Yeah, in fact I have it.

  • i used to have it, and i want to back soooooooooooo badly man. how much did you get yours from and how do you tell the difference between the one with SMW and the one without, I haven't touched this game in years!

  • I bought mine from a partnert of my younger brother, it was like 5000 pesos, about 10 bucks.

  • Wasn't there a version that came with Super Mario world on it?

  • the game is called doki doki panic which is funny because doki doki is theJapanese onomatopoeic sound of a heartbeat in a manga sounds book I read.

  • I think the Port That our mario 2 was from was called Doki Doki panic. But yah it is tghe exact same game as mario 2 but different character models( they have all the abilities mario2 has

  • yeah but the SMB 2 REAL CAME ONLY IN JAPAN!!!!!only in this game u will see it as a continuation of SMB 1

  • Comment removed

  • they have some mario all stars that also had super mario world on them

  • Yeah later versions or Euro PAL versions I guess?

  • immortal game

  • It looks as if you're using an emiulator to play this games and get the direct screen shots. Why not use one of those video capture devices to feed video from your game systems directly into the computer?

  • The footage of SM All-Stars was captured off a real SNES with a USB TV Tuner. The footage from the NES games was taken from emulation.

  • cool

  • smb3 on gba was super mario adv 4. 3 was world

  • Oh yeah I forgot about SMW on GBA too. I actually owned it too lol.

  • never heard of this game, did it come out later?

  • Came out in 1993 I'm surprised you haven't heard of it. I think most copies around are from the free promotion and perhaps aren't boxed. But you'll find loose ones on EBAY for $20-30.

  • Great review. But dude, Hidden Levels was fucking hard! I remember the first time I got the Purple Mushroom, I was like "hey what's this.. wtf! I'm dead?"

  • when i had my first snes was This

  • ive had it since it came out

  • nice job!

  • This was my first SNES game! Mario 2 America is a Famicom Disk System Game called Doki Doki Panic.

  • The Super Mario 2 Japanese version is called Doki Doki Panic.

  • yeah, he looks it up during the video

  • its doci doci panic

  • A few times when I turned this game on it would come up with this piracy message and my game was a legit copy. I got it brand new.

  • LOL glitch in the lockout chip I guess. Funny.

  • Yeah although the chip feels kinda loose in the cart.

  • lol oops i should've watch the whole video before i comment, i see u looked up the name sorry lol!!

  • i fell like i played this games only yesterday for the first time, man the time flies fast....

  • Super Mario Bros. 3 on the Gameboy Advance is Super Mario Advance 4

Super Mario Bros. 2 is different on the Gameboy Advance (the Irate Gamer explains it in one of his videos)

  • Oh, the memories...

  • omg i have this game its so cool!

  • hey man nice review.. by the way u mention there was a game where the us version of smb 2 copy from? i believe it was a japanese game call doki doki panic. anway keep up with the good video's = )

  • lol was the comparison to the original graphics really necessary? I'm sure anyone who even comes close to watching a video by you knows what the NES Marios looked like!

  • That's odd. I have the PAL version of this game. Aussie to be exact. And it has Mario World on this cart too. I don't know why that is, but I find it kinda upsetting that Canadians like me need to import the game to get Mario World included. Still, Mario 1, 2, 3 and USA all together on one cart is still very awesome.

  • there are 2 versions of this game. you can get the one with mario world where you live too. thing is just finding it for a good price. they have both versions in the US so they should have it there too.

  • Comment removed

  • i must get this game (2nd!!!)

  • Ah man, i was in the process of editing a video i have recorded of the exact same game, just looked around here during a break from editing and i see your one.

Oh well, great review as you always do.

  • yeah but i will fuck your momma for a retardness u dumbfuck

  • Your making no sense.
