The only thing that bothers me about the underwater scenes is the fact that the real Titanic passengers wouldn't so willingly open their eyes in the water (it's the Atlantic Ocean, so therefore there's a lot of salt in the water).

titanic took all of these hard things to make. all those workers and all the hard work.while avatar took a computer to do those visual effects.i cant get whats the hard work in avatar. 90% of it is computer work.how can something thats gross and effortless as avatar take over titanic's place. well i think many people bought tickets to see it but hated it at the end.many went to see how awfull it is.while people who saw titanic liked it.

@JBLover969 Its because the scene was pointless as the door was left open. Their acting for that scene was gone to waste, considering they were put on new clothes and dried etc... they would have to do it again!

@TileyxForever LOL-I hear you but any idea of how many versions of this disaster exist? The producers & directors probably all thought the same thing, that theirs was the best & they were no doubt right at the time. I agree though, they need to just stop with this one. Cameron may be arrogant like they say but the man is a genius, assembles the best production crew for every movie & is entitled to every accolade that comes his way.

its amazing how they put everything together. james cameron is definitely an artist and it must have been soooo much work to get all this together. there could never be enough time to thank allt hose people that added to this amazing set. all those people seriously deserved pieces of that oscar. the people who designed the clothes and the set even the people who just panted and built those rooms to look like the original.

they had to fill them with gel because the boat is supposed to be tilted in that scene and they wanted to make the glasses look like they were also being tilted

And ya, i saw from some short scenes that they were filming in the beginnging of the ocean... :))

well they filmed the shot on a flat surface and then tilted it with editing so any of the liquid in the glasses wouldve just been sitting there and looking all....not tilted..

its hard to explain haha..=)

Take a half filled glass of water. Then tilt the glass. That's how it would look if you had a glass of water on a tilted surface. They used gel so they can simulate that on a flat surface.
