I found a nice visual breakdown of how much the different inputs cost farmers in relation to one another during this same period, but youtube won't let me post the link.
The chart is from the LA Times, but Cdn prices may be similar. Land Rent & Fertilizer seem to be the dominant costs, projected to be almost double the costs of the 3 other main costs which are for Seed, Fuel, and Crop Insurance.
