I'd like to get a McGizmo Haiku one of these days, that's my grail...but they are just so expensive. Not sure about dumping $500 on a single flashlight anytime soon.
Really good review man! I need to get me a HDS 170...I bought the Moddo clip a long time ago with intentions of buying this light...but then I caught the Surefire bug, since I have the clip already...it's a must to get the HDS.
@bankmind80 thanks! lol so you did it the smart way, get a clip then get the light. i had to wait for 6 months before i found a moddoo clip for my HDS but it was well worth the wait. right now i am going through my surefire phase. so far i have an E1E, E2L, and a E2DL. i sold my E1B a while ago but im on the search for another!
Can you access all modes from the off position? For instance could you go straight to moonlight mode with no preflash from off? or do you need to turn it on and then triple click to access moonlight?
@zher47 the way i have it set up no. you have to turn it on then click three times to go to moonlight. im almost positive that you can set it up so your first mode is moonlight if you want to. HDS is known for being highly customizable.

@xtonesterx hey i first saw one of your edc vids about a month or two ago, i really liked it, nice video quality and stuff and u had good descriptions and reasons, i subbed a couple weeks ago, and i wanted to put my 2 sence in for some constructive critisism. Id sugjest talking points, and a fuller description like the lumens and size and price exc. cuz ive never heard of this light, other then that, awsome review as always, keep up the good work.
@themediocrepirate yah i actually see them pop up over there quite often. i highly recommend HDS especially for LEO, Military, or First Responder. construction is just bomb proof.

Yea, these lights come up often in CFMP. I personally have the *old* 200cn model & a hi-cri twisty model (no longer available).
Also, great informative review of 2 great lights Tonester :).
