Peoples... Birdos are a BREED like Yoshis are. Therefore there are both males and females of each. They are very similar breeds so they can interbreed with each other. Only the female of each breed can produce fertilized eggs but for some reasons both male and female can produce unfertilized eggs...and since they are reptiles, it's almost impossible to know their gender.

During the 80s most video gaming wasn't amazing popular, but what was extremely unheard of was putting a transsexual character in a video game. In truth, I was initially disappointed to discover that Birdo is male. The reason is that I've always seen her as a strong female character, which isn't something you see too much of in games. It's alright, you're far from the first person to mention this.

As I've admitted, it was an oversight to refer to Birdo as a "he". This video was created not long after I discovered that fact (I've been a Birdo fan much longer) so I didn't think about things like how it is respectful to refer to her as a "she" and that the Japanese are disrespectful to transsexuals.

However, since I mean absolutely no offense by this, I don't feel it necessary to remove the video, edit, and upload again.
