hey, on the 5th line of the sheet music i thought the b notes (or whichever part has the 3 bs in a row) were rolls but it seems they are triplets by how you are playing it (which sounds correct and didn't sound right when i was doing rolls. It's just the sheet music had the squiggle which I thought meant a roll so I'll try playing with triplets instead.
@dwaynedibbly everybody plays the music their own way; that's part of the tradition of Celtic music. if you want to play them as rolls, go ahead! just because i play the tune a certain way doesn't mean that's the "correct" way or the only way to play it. do what sounds right to you and what you want to do. and always keep playing and experimenting. good luck! :)
wow! and I mean WOW! u inspired me to open up my old uilleann pipes case and resume practicing! i guess it's time to resume my seat in Houston's Irish Session circle.
@FortOyer the second tune is a tune i found in a book called Celtic Air. its the book that really got me started with fiddling and a good amount of my tunes come from it
Wasn't that first song used in 'The Last of the Mohicans' with Daniel Day Lewis? The music was used just before that girls jumps off the cliff. Melancholy song and you play well.
um, i'm not really sure if its in Last of the Mohicans or not.. i mean, it COULD be, as there were a lot of celtic/celtic-sounding pieces in that movie
I looked into it and the song used in 'Last of the Mohicans' is The Gael by Dougie Maclean. Of course I found that out on wikipedia after I already told 2 people in LotM threads that the song is the one you are playing here - oopsie. You should learn The Gael and then notify me when you post it because I love that song.
@SuperWestworld The tune your meaning is Na Gael, the Gael, have to say iamNotirishgah, really liked your playing of Chì Mi Na Mórbheanna, one of my favs :)
