Chris Shaw the director has a youtube account u guys might wanna check out. I left him a comment telling him I loved Split and he said that he has DVD's of Split available on his website. Check out this channel: user/shortshow
One of my top 10 favorite movies of all time. I first rented this in 1993. I bought it in 2000 and have enjoyed it many times since and have turned a multitude of people onto it. I wish it would be re-released onto dvd. I dont know how much longer my vhs tape is going to hold out and it is very hard to find. I watch this along with They Live and Repo Man.
Wow! the sound guy Robert Galpren on this shit is off the chain! 'Im convinced that he is "Bob Noxious" on KLSD radio on utube. He has the same upside down face. -putintain-.
I found this movie in a cheap ma-n'-pa rental place in 1991 on the shelf amid all of the other overlookable AIP direct-to-video tapes. Needless to say it was like finding a powerful hallucinogenic mushroom in that cowpie of a store. I still make copies of it for friends. And lets face it, it's likely that "The Matrix" borrowed from this one.
Absolutely. At the very least a dvd should be issued by...somebody. I think that not getting good distro might be one thing that kept him from making more films.
I only ever saw it that once, back around 89. Shaw did a q/a after. the film seems pretty prophetic now. i'd like to see it again.

Good trailer. I have the vhs, but it needs a dvd with commentary or back story. I wanna know why the hell Shaw never directed again.

I love this film! I have the AIP VHS. This trailer sells it so much better than the official trailer.

Saw this in a small art theater in Austin. Shaw was SELF-distributing this film by driving from theater to theater with it in his car.

That's amazing to me. I'd really like to find out how to get the rights to distribute this film! I think it's a masterpiece!
