Is not about bringing hatred, is about being realistic. You think Olympics are only about sports and getting together(that is quite naive) well think about the amount of money that China will gain ONLY from tourism. Is the opportunity for a country to show it's best face and cover the bad face, so people like you will think OH! how beautiful! and forget all the crimes that China's communism has done during more than 100 years. I all about power, always!! so try to be more critical.

but you have to admit china are a bit dumb for saying that sport and politics dont mix when they have boycotted how many olympics over Taiwan so you know they cant defend themselves because they cant back it up. Thats why so many people are protesting because tibet should be free but it isnt and people are angry at that.

"China has never boycotted any olympics, read your history before you speak"...... maybe you should do just that, because, fact is, china has boycotted a number of olympics, and for very very stupid reasons.... e.g China boycotted the 1956 Melbourne Olympics because the IOC allowed Taiwan to compete under a seperate name 'Formosa'... ( when china wanted to oppress them, and keep them under the PRC)

BooMarioPBLA: No, there were no boycotts of Olympics by Mainland China, but rather duels with Taiwan on who represented "China" in the Olympics. When Taiwan was the sole representative of "China," the Mainland just sat out the Olympics.

The thing is, all the people going on about the air quality in China, on the most part, have never been there. I went there a few months ago, and was SO impressed with the air. The media makes it out to be worse than it really is. China has done a brilliant job with the Olympics, so just appreciate the effort the have put in, don't focus on the negative.

I went in april and it was pretty bad, I could feel the air i was breathing, it was gross.
but they did everything they could to improve, so that probably worked, thank goodness :D china really is very lovely!

Chinese authorities are assuring athletes and spectators arriving for the Beijing Olympic Games that they will be not safe from terror of air pollution, but may safe from terrorist attack. Organizing committee spokesman Sun Weide told reporters Tuesday that China could not guarantee a safe and peaceful Olympics.

Most sporters ever in Olympic history will attend the Olympic Games! Lucky Chinese!! Our Dutch team will do well, I can't wait untill the Olympics start! Really impressive what China showed the world, amazing modern buildings, great culture, great country!
