Hi, I filmed it and posted it the same day I fitted it, so only a week old. (took longer to post videos than to do the upgrade!)
Have been recording HD and SD at the same time and time slipping, all works flawlessly exactly the same as the old 320gb, but with a massive memory now!
I do have plans to use the old 320gb in a caddy via its rear USB but not until I run out of space!!! but will film how that goes to and do some speed tests.
Thanks for that. I have a twin caddy with a Samsung 2TB F4 Spinpoint HD and I transfer video I want to keep off the Humax using the front USB. Hook caddy upto the PC and then edit out all the commercials using Video ReDo Suite. I've read that 1.5 and 2 TB Hard Drives are slower to access when 60% full inside Humax. Great video demos by the way! Looking for a Western Digital 1TB like yours when I eventually do the swap.
Some questions. How long have you had the new WD 1TB Hard Drive installed and what do you think to it's performance so far, any noticeable lags in media list access? Have you been using the ex-Humax Seagate 320GB drive in an external caddy via USB connection to Humax to store/exchange recordings from the new 1TB Hard Drive, if so, how does it perform, slow, fast etc;?
Thanks ffshield for posting these 1-11 demo videos on how to fit a new 1TB Hard Drive in the Humax Foxsat HDR. I've read a lot of forums on how to do this but seeing it carried out on video makes it look a lot more straightforward for a novice like me. I will be carrying out a new 1TB hard drive exchange so I will be watching your videos again to help me along the way. Check out Hot UK Deals for the best priced1TB Hard Drive suited for video use.
