Everyones tripping out over cedrics use of the term "pop" to define TMV, but if you actually read interviews hes done, he says that their version of pop isnt about the sound as much as the song structure, such as the chorus and breakdowns. Especially when you compare this to something like Frank Zappa & the mothers, who really were oddly "progressive". And yeah cedrics hair blows, i think he has the kind of face that looks good only really grungy and not with shitty "normal" hair ew.

The Mars Volta is the band that got me really interested in music, looking into progressive rock, jazz-fusion, krautrock (awesome, Cedric just mentioned Can when I typed that), and coming back to TMV, I definitely hear the pop structure in their music. It's sort of a anti-pop or "post-pop" if you will that is meant to appeal to the dark side in people. I wouldn't say TMV started it, but we are definitely seeing a post-pop movement in action with Lady Gaga, and during the superbowl, we had the

(not exactly a "fan of John Frusciante [that] doesn't know anything else [and is] just a chili peppers fan" ). Given that together they have been on multiple albums and tours and shows (and almost an Omar movie), it seems strange that he get's offended at any suggestion of a relationship. But what can you, he probably he gets asked that all the time.
