  • I agree with what the engineer said about hoping to keep these engines in working order so that other generations can enjoy them. I remember 4501 so fondly because we took her to Chattanooga in 1992 when I was only 9! Now, she's retired and rusting, and it breaks my heart to no end. I heard that they are supposed to restore her for the 100th birthday, but who knows. I sure hope so! Anyways, great video you have here :-)

  • I thought I heard the whine of a turbine at 1:12. Didn't seem to be the dynamo or was it?

    Great in-cab footage. This is what everyone wants to see.

  • The engine is now being stored at the Duluth Depot, where it is planned to stay indefinately. The video is between Duluth-Two Harbors, MN
