  • No. Gary is really saying nothing. His sililoquey on sililoquey is nothing more than trying to explain writing in general. I'd like to know what he has to say about Hunter, but apparently, this thing doesn't do it. Remember, Gary is also a very intense individualist himself. IE: His words dont always translate well, even though he may be saying something. Genius?...nah.

  • Incidentally, nowhere is it stated that Hunter Thompson helped to edit the movie "Fear & Loathing...". He apparently had *nothing* whatsoever to do with the editing of the FILM. So, you're wrong about that one. Where did you get your information (as it's incorrect)? Thompson himself pretty much admitted that he knew little to NOTHING about the whole filmmaking process. He helped to edit his *BOOKS*, of course, NOT the movie.

  • Yes, Hunter and his attorney Oscar Acosta did in fact make that journey to Las Vegas. I'm sure he changed some details for obvious reasons and who knows what is 100% true.. but for the most part yes, it happened.

  • Yeah, it seems pretty clear to me that Busey probably never read Thompson. He's really really vague and general about HST's writing. He was his friend maybe, but not a reader. Busey does look like he's ready to schiz out any second. Or punch the fucking director/interviewer.

  • I do think the remarks about writing visually are precise. Good writers are a dime a dozen. But a writer who can put you in a place and time and give you the vision of being there -- well, that is a gift that you don't find often.
