According to the CDC over 75 million Americans had received the H1N1 vaccine by Feb. 4. The VAERS site says 564 reports of serious health events and 42 deaths as of Jan 22.

564 in 75 million is a 1 in 132,978 chance.

42 in 75 million is a 1 in 1,785,714 chance.

Also, not everyone will relate their illness to the shot and report it as such.

Some of the pregnant women in the studies, as well as the ones who believed the damned advice to take the shots have even given birth yet. So the potential damages to those babies is unknown.

There is one very important clarification that needs to be made here. The VAERS does _not_ record "adverse reactions" to vaccines. Rather, it records "adverse events" that occur reasonably shortly after a vaccine was administered.

There will always be some fraction of the population that has a "serious health event" at any given time. It's not a priori clear that _any_ of these events reported on VAERS were actually _caused_ by the vaccine. That's why they are still "under investigation."
