I think they are talking about nature not about the rescue gears in avalanches :) if you want to learn something you should watch rescue programs not programs about natures :)
you are closed in in this avalanche you only can get out of 2 way
it's hard o say but 1st: death
or 2nd: you have to hold your hands very hard to your mouth so u can breath for 3-5minutes during that you must try to move so you MAYBE can go out there.
Actually, most people die not from suffocation but from aspyxiation from rebreathing their own carbon dioxide. You need to scrape out an air pocket in the 5 seconds before the ice settles to both give yourself more oxygen and prevent an ice mask from forming.
Rescue is not the important thing. If you're buried your chances are slim, period. The only thing that is important is knowing how, when, and where to ski BC terrain so that your chances of triggering an avy are as close to 0 as possible.

When an avalanche gets to you, if you're caught in its path, you'll have a maximum 30 minutes to hopefully someone else will take you out alive.
Extremely slim chances to survive. Better stay to avoid them in the first place.
