  • thank you so much for this video it brought back memories of my mother's 84 Chevy Van 20 she had and i recently purchaced my first van, a 2000 Chevy ASTRO

  • @g20s10silveradoman Your very welcome! Glad you liked it! And that is awesome! Post up a video and let me know, would love to see your progress on the new van!

  • @im100percent4u If I'm not mistaken they were taken mid 80's to mid 90's. First one was in the mid 60's? Wow I didn't think vannin started untill the late 60's early 70's. That is awesome! Man what I would do to have that experience. And the 3rd Nats? Wow lucky! Hope you have some great pictures. I still use that, and many other vannin phrases. Good news is the good ol' days are still happening!

  • Wow ! Thank you soooooo much for this !!!

    Have a great day friend..

    Ed " Belgium"

  • @streetvanner Your very welcome! I'm happy your enjoyed it!

  • those were the days. You have to give high marks for originality on some of them. Beats a boiler plate ford explorer, blah, blah, blah...

still, the pics just say- white baby boomer with too much time on their hands, who later sell the van in the 80s and 90s when they move into the McMansion, and it was no longer cool to park that in the HOA protected tract home developement. "Let's concentrate on upgrading the kitchen and bathroom with honey oak and almond or black glass "look" appliances."

  • @Livinggreen100 and that's why you buy a house with a garage, keep the van!

  • great vid

  • @Artarous thank you

  • The nice thing about a van is that you can go all over the country and save a frickin fortune on hotel costs.

  • @ntnrocket1 Got that rite! Can't say it any better then that. I've learned a lot myself traveling around in a Van. Can basicly get anywhere with just gas and food money :D

  • I remember those kind of vans back in the day. They were pretty impressive to a young teen girl. Thanks for sharing this. !

  • @dixiewife47 Your very welcome! Many of them are still around and there is plenty of new customs around as well.

  • At the 11:52 mark did I see a fuckin jet engine installed on a van?

  • @nbenicewicz yes you did! Pretty badass if you ask me.

  • @1983GMCvan HOLY SHIT!

Bad ASS in the 10TH DEGREE! How Fast Does it go and what kind of engine is it?

  • @nbenicewicz I wish I knew... This Van was before my time. Never seen her in person, only pictures.

  • @1983GMCvan Have you seen that awesome customized van that someone posted on YT? I believe it's titled Custom Bug Out Van 4x4. It's awesome.

I believe it puts The A-Team's van to shame.

  • @nbenicewicz Just watched it that was pretty awesome actually! Well the A-team Van is built for street and the Bug Out Van is a 4x4 so not even in the same class.

  • @1983GMCvan After I saw that video I kind of want to get my own van and customize it like that. Maybe even install a machine gun turret. LOL! But I'd try to make sure it's EMP proof though.

  • @nbenicewicz Go for it! Even I would like to do that if I ever bought a conversion van. Would make an awesome year round daily driver.

  • @1983GMCvan Yep sure would. I'd probably make it into a passenger/sleeping van if I did.

    Good talking to you.

  • @nbenicewicz If you do please post up a video, I would love to see it! And thanks, it was great talking with you, thanks for pointing me to that video it was awesome!

  • @1983GMCvan You're Welcome. Yes IF I come across one and figure out how to use a digital camera I'll post some vids. Although I'll probably post some political or gun videos first.

  • @nbenicewicz Sounds good!

  • Still researching Cinderella back to original owner. Though I'd bought it from him but still got two more names to backtrack. So where are the Nationals held and when this coming year? 2012. Heeeheee, so I'm busy alot and out of touch? Somebody has to get the van back in shape!

  • @MySonic31 That sounds awesome! I know a buch of people on vannin probably know the original owner by name. This years Nationals are in Elkhorn, Wisconsin. I'll send you a couple links in PM. Not sure how things are going to go for me but I plan on making it.

  • Open 2 utube pages. Copy & paste,.. Peter Frampton - Do You Feel Like We Do (Talking Guitar Version LIVE) ...Crank up Frampton- click full screen of "A Blast From The Past - Old Van Pictures " & mute. Hit the bong, swig away the cotton mouth, sit back and enjoy a better day gone by. Peace out

  • Hey guys! Just purchased the 71 van at 12:02 from original family in Hagerstown, MD. She still looks the same other than shaved handles, angle covered side windows and a few extra mirrors on her. Going to keep her the same and do some sprucing up. Driving her around town! Know where the pics were taken and how I can get my hands on a copy?

  • @MySonic31 You bought Cinderella? That's AWESOME! Take care of her, and you got PM!

  • @MySonic31 Funny I almost picked up that van from the guy in Hagerstown also - looked really clean and well kept! Maybe see you at 2012 Nats - i'll be driving from Pittsburgh, PA

  • 9.14 is marooned I built in 88

  • hey thats my van at 4.14 Cosmic Cruiser in 85 or 6 .. still rolling . I got a few vids up of it now

  • @thecruiser2010 I've seen many pictures and your video's as well. Awesome van! And I hope to one day see your van in person, and meet you too. Keep on truckin'

  • @1983GMCvan Vanfest 2012 and the Nationals ..I.l be there

  • @thecruiser2010 not sure about Vanfest but I am hoping to make the Nationals. Just have to see how things go. Hopefully they go good!

  • Not quite. Those are the real deal believe me. i was at many of those events where the pics were shot. Imagine attending a truckin' with over 1000 vans as it was at one time. Everyone got along and had a mutual respect for one another. No fighting, no theft, none of that B.S. I know it sounds odd but just peace and harmony. No I'm not a pot smoker either.

To this day your modern conversion van evolved from those early vanning days.

    2% forever!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @jpratt01 Well said (: 2%

  • @jpratt01 I like your post,In my day I had a van and went to many events..........NO fighting just a bunch of people having a good time..aka vantramp here .......thanks for the pics...............

  • these pictures are recent of some van club trying to relive the past.

  • @Stevespeeze nope these pictures are old, you can tell from the quality. And Van clubs are still around, living in the present. If I were to show you, we would be watching picture slide shows for days.

  • Fantastic vid! I recognize so many of these vans including my own at 9:35 and a few seconds after. That was on my way to the last Van Nat's I attended in Colorado in 1989.

For any of you who know Geoff & Sonya Koome they now own it. I often wish I still had it.

    Great collection.

  • @jpratt01 Thank you very much! Sounds like you used to roll with my parents back in the day. I'll send you a PM.

  • WOW!!! Thanks for this video and memories. I have pictures of alot of the vans in this video. Top notch truck in, Viginia van nationals, Eastern van nationals. Been to alot on the east coast. Thanks from a member of Delaware Bay Vans...

  • @drnz301 Your very welcome! I sure enjoyed looking threw all these pictures. Can't wait untill the next eVANt! Keep on Truckin' 2%

  • @trucker765 That's sweet! And you got PM.

  • i wanna sell my 70torinogt and get a old van..my wife thinks im nuts .... but i think there awsome ..nobody has one around here.......but i do like my torino too......

  • @70torinogt70 Why not have both? Or give the Torino to your wife, and get a Van. Seems like a sweet deal to me haha

  • fricken awesome videos thanks for the tour..... great now i want one lol

  • @70torinogt70 Thanks! And your welcome, have you checked out part 2? The link is in the description. Hopefully you can get a Van and head out to the next eVANt!

  • Did quite a few van nats myself mid to the end of the 80's fab times. 5 of us had Famous five go west t shirts. Bev, alan, gary,Paul and ?think it was bob.

  • @CRAZYG458 I would have loved to be there at that time. But hey, atlease I'm there now! If you had a good time, why not hit up this years Van Nats?

  • Good. One could be in my future.

  • @max25a Sweet! Post up a video once you get one. I'd love to see it.

  • Good tune. Why not keep making these cool vans.

  • @max25a There are many still making these cool Vans. Stay tuned this summer for more Van video's.

  • nice video good to see the old van pics thanks for posting mate

  • @FT29V6 Your welcome! I hade a blast putting it all together

  • I'm a huge van of the vannin era.. I'm trying to get a van going with custom interior. Nobody I know has that or has ever seen it. It's going to be amazing

  • @babydollkiller I'm part of that era. Ofcourse I was not alive at the time of the peak, but we are still arround to this day. Sounds like a cool project, you should post up a video of the progress. And come vannin' man!

  • @1983GMCvan Thats one of my plans once I get a van and got an interior going. I'm mostly just coming up with layout designs right now and looking for something I wanna pick up and work on. Slow but steady.. .Hopefully something comes of it.

  • @babydollkiller Ya I hear ya. I have a Van built up in my mind. Just got to get my life going first then look for a Van and get started. If only it was as easy as thinking about it lol.

  • @1983GMCvan Yeah... 1st things first I wanna get the van. I'm not overly picky but i'd prefer one from the 70s if I could. Tho i'd take anything long as it match'd what I wanna do with it. We'll see what the next few months bring for me in regards to this. Hopefully something nice

  • @babydollkiller Ya I hope so... I'm much more picky. At the moment I want a 74-77 dodge tradesman. With little to no rust. But as for drivetrain I don't really care, even if it's shot I can just swap something in. Main concert is the body has to be good.

  • Those were some great vans back then, but with a little perseverance at some point in the future, these to could be the good old days. Killer work!

  • @JohnBailey3 Thanks man!

  • wow ..... im speechless. Thanks 4 sharing

  • @vannmanndann Your welcome!

  • GREAT JOB !!!!!!! The slideshow was sweet, I saw my dream vans again...Cinderella and War Lord haha

  • @1972FordEconoline Thanks bud! Man those were the days!

  • My god there were some awesome body mods back then!! WOW.! That little red one with the whale tale is just insanely cool..and I don't like shortened vans but I'd drive that all day!!

  • @MrMuench Ya there was some awesome stuff, and there still is! Keep on Vannin'

  • Great Stuff! Thanks for sharing man!

  • @MrMuench Your welcome!
