  • 2Thes.2:3-- "...rebellion comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction..."

Gk. "...ἀποστασία πρῶτον καὶ ἀποκαλυφθῇ..." The word "kai" (καὶ) is a conjunction, which is "conjoining" the "apostasy" with the "revealing of the man of lawlessness...". It in fact means: a falling away from the faith!

Mr. McClarty is simply WRONG! He is eisegeting the passage, not exegeting it.

I would like to know what Greek scholar is giving him the information he is using.

  • Hi Jim Can you tell me where you got your information on the Greek word "apostasia" that is TRANSLATED as FALLING AWAY in the King James version. I looked it up in the Strongs condordance and "APOSTASIA" is only used 2 times in the KJV, once as FALLING AWAY and once more as FORSAKE. The word "APOSTASIA" according to Strongs concordance means turning away, rebellion, abandonment, apostasy and falling away.

Your brother in Jesus Christ, Mark
