  • I like Data more but at 2:41 the way Riker aid that, it was just cool

  • i thought he said a spread of torpedoes...i only see one......

  • They should have given them a Vorcha class Cruiser. so the klingons could have attacked whitout that "shield penetrating" excuse.

It would have been an epic Battle with the klingons being blown up a the end by a nice Data maneuver but with the Enterprise being damaged hard enough to crash on the Planet

  • It´s a Nice Movie!

  • I love you, Data.

  • The Klingons and their disco boots were destroyed.

  • I hated this in this movie b/c it wasted such excellent villains for such a point plot contrivance. Many better movies could have been made w/ the interesting revenge of the Lursa B'Etor theme. Apart from the "Wrath" thru "Journey Home" movies, most of the Trek movies were really rather stupid.

  • You hated this movie because those fools died? They died a perfect death, and exactly the sort of death I would expect them to. They thought they "had it all," as usual, and then, as usual, they were sorely disappointed, only this time permanently. Kirk died, why they hell shouldn't they die?

  • No. I hated the movie, thus I hated the fact that such fun villains were pointlessly wasted in a pointless movie. I would have preferred some really interesting grand stink up between the House o' Durass & Worf or some equally fun politics between the Gowran & these broads. All The Next Generation movies sucked. This movie was the most pointless, plotless movie I've ever endured.

  • *Voyage* Home and Wrath are the most overrated Trek movies ever.

Wrath works not because of plot or point but because it's starship porn. Insurrection and Nemesis fail because they try to have "moral lessons" and really bad ones at that. Anyone who thinks Wrath is way better than First Contact should watch the two movies again as action movies. You'll like First Contact more trust me especially when you see Sulu missing from spitting range.

  • Didn't you mean "The Voyage Home"?

  • she said gnaaa xD "titten" ;)

  • What part of 'remodulate the shields' is not occurring to these people?

  • thinking the same thing

  • @Tjalys Or if that information makes a ship vulnerable, why is it posted for everyone to read?

  • it was gay how they used stock footage from ST VI for the klingon bird of prey explosion.

in a TV series I would expect that sort of thing, but in a movie? Come on

  • lol at the end Data was like Yes!!! PUNCH!!!! xD

  • I know......that was cool.....:)

  • Where did Lursa learn to read english? (That was Lursa, right?)

  • Read english, how did she learn to speak english..Must be some sort of school up there in space.Probably the one that Elroy from the Jetsons went to.

  • Maybe it was the "Universal Translator'?? I must admit, the Duras sisters (Betor and Lursa) were hot!!!=Stefan=

  • Yes they were HOT!!...I like the squished up thing goin' on there...he he he. Too bad they were such beeyatches !!! :-)

  • @VelociTiger there actually more attractive in there Klingon attire, just like the chick who played B'ellana

  • Well that's what I figured for the whole speaking english thing but I didn't think it would work on written language.

  • LOL!!!!

  • Lursa and B'Etor were from one of most influential Klingon houses in the Empire. Many high ranking Klingon houses learn English, or Federation Standard as it is called in Star Trek.

  • cuz they gave good h3d.

  • This is probably the reason generations was so poorly received by star trek fans in spite of having perhaps the most meaningful plot of every next generation movie.

Even if the bird of prey can shoot through the shields, the enterprise D should have easily won, no technobable. Watch how many torpedos (fired simultaneously with phasers no less) it is able to spit out in 'the best of both worlds' and 'survivors'. If it did the same against this bird of prey, the BOP would be dead in one volley.

  • The big thing is why the "Big E" did not eject the warp core. Geordie did not even mention the option, And he is Chief Engineer! LaForge should have been courtsmartialled for deriliction of duty. Ejecting the core may have saved the ship! (Ultimately, it was a core breach that caused her destruction)!! =Stefan=

  • yeah but the film would have not been as good .

  • yeah but the film wouldnt have had the crash and the film would have been crap

  • News flash: The film was mediocre at best. It had great ideas in it (probably the most thoughtful TNG movie with the confrontation of age a central theme), but they were drowned out by lousy execution.

Now it would have been very easy to avoid using the idiotic shield piercing plot device -just give the klingons a couple of attack cruisers and several birds of prey instead. Then everyone would be happy, the enterprise would have had a better showing in battle and technobabble would be reduced.

  • trekkie08: you obviously like seeing things smash up and explode. So do I :) , but I think it spoils everything when they break continuity or come up with a unneeded plot device to facilitate it (which is what they have done here). The first thing they decided they wanted to do was crash the enterprise saucer. They then wrote a flimsy excuse to do so (which, as has already been explained in the thread, was full of holes - just eject the core, the enterprise should have still won in 1 volley etc)

  • So, they clandestinely found a way to penetrate the shields. Worf dutifully announces the obvious: They've found a way to penetrate our shields! Uh-huh. So, from what I read in college about the D's tactical evaluation and management she would have told Worf the reason; they found the frequency. That said, why didn't they try the frequency-hopping technique they so often used against the Borg? No flames please, this is a legitimate question.

I do love the scene though.

  • Yea,but it was wasn't mentioned that the revolving frequency program for the shields was knocked out as the BOP was hammering on the engineering section of the "D" wich left them vulnerable. Besides, it makes for a cooler battle..:-)

  • Don't really like Star Trek, but cool video non the less ^^

  • Ohhhh...cmon dude..Star Trek is really cool. :-)

Neat if you like space war type movies..Someone should come out with another type of series like that one again..If I had any freaking brains and alot of money. I'd do it.. he he
