I CAN'T LMAOOO being that my dad is was trained abroad and had his own solo practice in Brooklyn NY and was one of the lead cardiologists at Kingsbrook - i totally understand. There must be something about the ears things because my dad also has gigantic ears LMAOOO

however, my dad said that if you have a bump on the back of your head above the nape of your neck - he deems that a smart bump and has said anyone with a bump like that on the back of their head is smart LOL go figure

Assuming what you say about Caribbean, med schools I'm wondering what my options are. As a Barbadian I have always had my mind set on going to Mona, in Jamaica, but I also got accepted at a UK uni, so I was wondering in your opinion which would be the better option?

I would be curious to try to correlate Caribbean medical student performance with other graduates of their particular residency program. My suspicion is that Caribbean grads get the bottom of the barrel residencies and this is likely to be where they are coming up short in their clinical practices.

One of my attendings as a third year student was this cute little asian internist who happened to be 9 months pregnant at the time. Her uterus protruded as far out as she was tall, and she would waddle away at a snail's pace on rounds, huffing and puffing like she'd just done a marathon. From my end of things, at the rate we were getting things done, I don't think the intern and I would have minded a piggyback from our little yoda. Thought you should know.

OMG! This vid is hilarious especially on the physical examination. I'm taught the same way as your dad (physical examination is crucial in making a diagnosis). I have to admit, it is amazing how they are able to make correct diagnosis (later confirmed by test) with just simple inspection, palpation, percussion and auscultation.

Funny, but we should never forget that sometimes Yoda can be right. My mom's lymphoma was missed by her pcp, an ER doc and then was finally found by her gyn who miracle of all miracles put his hands on her belly to feel why she was having terrible pain there.
