@MMOThog First of all, that mustache is fierce! Second of all, all he's saying is we do have a certain amount of control over what happens, which is damn true. Third, why does it matter what type of Fire Dept a person comes from? I've been with big city and I'm now with a small town call company, and guess what, we do the same job on both departments, so maybe you should take your own advice and come down off your pedestal, are you even a Firefighter? Or are you just some wacker living a dream?
@kearsargefire Respect for what? He's an outspoken douche from some small town department. All of his messages/speaches places blame on us for injuries/deaths. In the above video, he is talking about being in shape and prepared for the job meanwhile he, himself, is a fat fuck with an offensive mustache....and so are the guy's behind him. He needs to come down off his pedistal because his speaches mean nothing.
wow thanks for posting this will let the brothers back at my department watch this i believe he wrote this also on his article in firehouse magazine this month or oct stay safe bros and sisters
dragonslayer- I believe you may have missed the point. Yes the goal is to make the grab and get out as well, but, making the proper risk assessment is the most important. None of us should enter a rescue situation with the mindset that I am going to die unless I get lucky. But we should enter knowing that there is an inherent risk that death may happen. Calculate that risk and remember who you go home to or answer to. Chief Goldfeder is emphasizing that point.
I have a great deal of respect for Chief Goldfeder, but to say "FFs HAVE to die" is a poor choice of words. Sometimes we MAY die trying to save a life, but the goal is to make the grab & get out as well. What about the brothers holding up photos that need to loose MORE than just a few pounds. How about promoting physical fitness!! My question to them - Do you REALLY CARE who's in your wallet? Than get on the fricken treadmill!!!!!
wow... last video id expect to find haters and trolls commenting. damn. great video to me.
