  • le talent est de famille .....

  • Where, oh where, did Sauimalae Laulu [Lee], from Samoa [then Oahu, HI],

disappear to? She is truly talented...

  • your sister is a beautiful dancer:)

    do you dance to?

  • very good danse

  • Simplemente, excelente ejecución y bello performance. Very nice vid.

  • Her body is AMAZING!!! I want MINE to look like that SOMEDAY! I am still a beginner in Tahitian Dance (I do it on my own by watching videos like this one and practicing). It's HARD but a GOOD WORKOUT! WOOOO!!! :P

  • just persevere. Work and work is the secret ;o)))

  • Thank you! =D

  • From this I cannot imagine more beautiful one!!

I look at this with admiration always the video.

  • Well, to be honest 32justme, I think Ahuura is really good comparing with the girls nowadays but still she is a bit timid, a bit boring, monotone and on the other hand, the girl the 3rd video on this page Heikura Nui, if that's her name.. is really good, but I find here a little bit vulgar.. So if Ahuura speeded up a bit and Heikura Nui dimmed a bit the perfect Tahitian dance girl is born, that's really my opninion!!

  • 123isit just remenber it was her first entrance in competition and it was 23 YEARS ago and The techniques have advanced since ;o)) just look at her performance 5 years later in 1989 and compare ;o)))

  • Uhhh, Heikura Nui is a dance group, not a person. If you REALLY know anything about tahitian dancing, you will know this!

  • I think of all the Tahitian dancers I have seen on YouTube she is the best! The other girls irritate me, they dance too wild, legs open, on their toe's, that's not the real thing! Ahuura dances easy, on a more natural, graceful way, feet flat on the floor. Once I've seen a Polynesian dance group: Ovehi Tahiti. The show was amazing and Ahuura dances the same, oldskool/vintage ;-D!! Does someone know's what happened with Ovehi Tahiti?

  • I hear she was the toughest judge at the first Hilo Fete.

  • May be just because she wanted the perfection. She is perfectionist and coach her 18 years old girl in this way. When i watch ORI now i notice many dancers think that to go very quickly is best and forget the corect position of the feet. etc...

  • teriimataha i greatly agree with you very much. I notice that alot of halau's or groups think that that is VERY imprtant, it is one of the important things abour ORI but not the most. I believe you can ORI forever and ever and as fast as you can but without grace, steps, story telling with body you are not learning the full elements of it. Maururu.

  • If she was good, she must be amazing now! must have been an honour dancing at the last Tiurai! thanks for these amazing videos im a dancer too so i love watching them!!! Mauruuru

  • you're welcome. Vintage! just keep in mind how techniques reach nowadays high level.

  • woohoo she is pretty

    best dancer too

  • just second this year ;o))

  • take that back :]

  • shes ok i guess

  • this was in 1984... competition wasn't the way it is now..

  • why?

  • tecnniques of dance enormously evolved. At this time very few dancers were able to down and turn ;o))
