Lovely poem! Thanks for sharing - the fireplace added just the perfect touch to it as well. Look for my new video in which I open the parcel you sent me! :)
Your poetry readings make me fluffy inside. Always a nice positive word to say! Your fire looks so warm and cozy.... but you may need a grate to keep peabrain from toasying the rest of her coat.
Trish, thank you for posting this! I really needed to here that. I have been struggling to find my way in this life and a poem like that has helped me put it in to perspective. Thanks again. I hope you don't mind, but I am going to post this to Facebook.
Beautiful presentation. Wording is not quite right, though. Go to wikipedia to see the original as written by Bessie A. Stanley

I really like this poem.
I hate the saying, he who dies with the most toys wins. Life is so much more than that. This poem expresses it beautifully.
Much love and hugs.

An excellent poem. She does say it well, so concisely. In 1905, $250 was *wealth*.

Your video was a success! We have to be careful nowadays on who it is that says we are a success! But.... it has always been that way.

There is so much wisdom to be found in older works that are so often overlooked. I'm reading Dickens now.
This poem was so well described success, even for today. The setting was lovely and the reading was superb.
Thank you for sharing, Trish.

No wonder your cat got an extra ginger stain. I'd dive in a fireplace that is that good looking. ;^)
Very nice poem and I think it's absolutely right.
