The one thing I don't like in Tekken is how amazingly long you can make a combo. I know a simple one with Marduk that takes of half your opponents lifebar.
tekken 6 would be great if it wasnt for the extremely unfair bounce and juggle systems which make fights for tekken vets fucking impossible, ok not impossible just extremely irritating

Left/right hands and feet = Yep, got it. Easy as it could be.
Trying to remember approx 200 moves per character which all rely on pressing the right combo of only 4 buttons = FUCKIN IMPOSSIBLE! So forever just feel like a beginer, button mashing.
And no amount of practice can get the thing to play smoothly. It's always stiff and jerky.
@Shoryuken4u because i say its easier to play compared to sf doesnt mean it is at all easy to play requires alot of practice. i like both games but sf just a little more. even to watch as a spectator SF is on another level.

I like both but Street Fighter 4 has little in the way of depth. What you see is what you get. In SFIV it's the awkward stick spins that make the game hard because they just aren't precise.Tekken 6 is more technical and has more opportunity to be inventive with the combos.
Tekken gets my vote. I do like SF even though the only character I can use well is Zangief due to the dodgey stick inputs
Either way I'd say Mortal Kombat out this year has a good chance of being better then both, we'll see.

It was innovative years ago, since then they've made almost no changes. StreetFighters alright if you want a fighter which has little in the way of variety; each characters have about 20 moves tops.
Once you know them all the gameplay gets stale because it doesn't change.
On top of that, it's not a game optimized for consoles or PC, it's a fighting game for arcades; a generation which has long gone.This is my main gripe.
Aside from "new graphics" SF4 is the same SF we knew years ago.
@MEDzZ3RO as every hardcore fighter knows...graphics takes a back seat 2 gameplay....no other fighter out there is as smooth and fluid in gameplay dynamics as SF...hence being in so many tournaments...SF is well balanced game...there are counters for everymove...and you can destroy a novice who button mashes...its not just about special moves...COMBOS...are the best thing in SF...no other fighter can compare...it takes skill to do a FADC vs...tekken button combo and MK button kombo..

Who care's about which is the more skillful game?, In both Tekken and Mortal Kombat the more skillful player will always beat the button basher.
Combos?, Streetfighter combos are so limited largely because of balancing. In Tekken for example, a good juggler can finish you off if you make one mistake, chaining combo after combo to the KO. If that's not "hardcore" I don't know what is.

And try to button mash on street fighter against anybody. Someone who button mashes will probly ger raped by a guy spamming hadokens. Tekken is just one hit and you loose. Whereas on street fighter you can comeback and still win the game. And mortal kombat isnt really competitive at all.

A good ground game is just as important in Tekken as are mind games. A solid defense will keep you from getting into a juggle. Basically, the long juggles are a punishment for defensive failure.

Street fighter has a SO much more to do. Sure, there's 100 moves for characters but there not that different. There just faster/stronger punches or longer punches. You're really not understanding what I'm getting at. To play Streetfighter properly, you need a £60-£100 fightstick; that's a steep price just for one game. Tekken on the other hand isn't fightstick orientated, its button layout favours a gamepad. On a gamepad Streetfighter moves are often unresponsive, largely because the gamepad analog sticks weren't designed with that level of precision in mind. People have mastered it but I do not wish to only play Streetfighter.

Do you play with a fightstick or a gamepad?; I've tried mastering Street Fighter with a gamepad and can only use characters with stick 360 rotations properly. As for the rest, it's hit and miss if I perform the move or not. As for "up,up" and "down,down" inputs, regardless of the speed I input them, I either jump or squat and don't pull-off the special. Because of this, I don't enjoy playing SF on consoles.
On a side note, I'm looking forward to Street Fighter VS Tekken. Looks good.
Tekken as some of the most micromanaging skill in a fighting game ive ever played, Theres guys out there that create their own juggle combo's from 100% health to 0%. Creating their own button sequences that are 75+ Button taps. Street fighter on the other hand.... Spin analog frantically while slamming your face on the button pad.
Tekken is like checkers. Street Fighter is like chess.
Checkers doesn't need as much technical skill. People can learn it fairly fast, and like it. You can spend more time playing and less time practicing
Chess on the other hand, will take some time to get used to. You will get destroyed your first few times, which is discouraging; But when you learn it, and see the critical thinking/strategy involved, you love it. The downside is, you need patience, whereas with checkers you can just dig in.
Tekken is a button masher. and dont tell me "its not true". my friend have TEKKEN 6 on his X360 and he play it all the time. one day i went to his house and played with him TEKKEN 6 and i kicked his ass just by mashing the buttons. SFIV is real skill and you can never do a move if your just mash buttons. also SFIV is way more balanced than TEKKEN 6. even if some characters are stronger than others in SF IV, you have the ultra move that can change the battle completly.

@JokeEmperor; Maybe Tekken has more combos I don't think "limiteless" but in street fighter IV, now with the new canceling move; you can actually create new combos and no stick to the custom ones; all depends in which character you're using; you can cancel special moves and regular hits so that gives you a bigger range.. the only difference is that Street Fighter is all about timing so you have to be Really good at it to pull out crazy combos(I am not but I like playing SF. and tekken sometimes)

@JokeEmperor You're a moron you can do juggles in Tekken 5 that take off WELL over half life, look up Tekken 5 juggles. Dan is a joke character, but every other character you see players play them in tournaments. You NEVER see characters like Roger and Alex, or Panda, in any Tekken tournaments.
No combos in tekken are already preset, you press certain buttons one after the other, and the character does a specific animation, SF4 you can do as many if you can time it right and have enough EX.
@rtc7788 Somebody was using Kuma at MLG Dallas 2010 and Hankuma, one of the best Tekken players out there, mained Kuma for quite a while before switching to Leo within the past 6 months. I know I've seen someone use Roger Jr. on Tekken Crash also. I'm not gonna argue about SF or Tekken being better. I just wanted to point that out. The bears are no joke.

@laconic6 Actually i've played every Tekken, and made it up to "Marauder" rank in Tekken 6. The combos are SIMPLE in Tekken 6, just press button after the other. Whereas SF4 requires way more skill you have to press each button at the precise frame, requires you to FADC, etc. Just fire hadoukens all day and you'll beat everybody? Yeah you just lost all credibility on that one. If the game was so simple it wouldn't be the #1 competitive fighting game in the world.

Unlike Tekken where its very beginner friendly, where combos are simple and preset while theres no damage scaling so you can do like half life damage in a simple combo someone can do after playing for only 15 minutes.
@JokeEmperor Juggling has always been in Tekken. It's ridiculous you can juggle your opponent in the air until over half their life is gone. Street Fighter 4 has VERY VERY limited air combos, you can maybe hit them once or twice in the air. No its not just 3 moves. SF4 has CUSTOM combos, meaning you can mix it up with jab forward, fadc, cancel into other combos at certain frames, while Tekken has set combos, press this button one after the other, etc.

Tekken gets my vote. I do like SF even though the only character I can use well is Zangief due to the dodgey stick inputs
Either way I'd say Mortal Kombat out this year has a good chance of being better then both, we'll see.

It was innovative years ago, since then they've made almost no changes. StreetFighters alright if you want a fighter which has little in the way of variety; each characters have about 20 moves tops.
Once you know them all the gameplay gets stale because it doesn't change.
On top of that, it's not a game optimized for consoles or PC, it's a fighting game for arcades; a generation which has long gone.This is my main gripe.
Aside from "new graphics" SF4 is the same SF we knew years ago.

@MEDzZ3RO as every hardcore fighter knows...graphics takes a back seat 2 gameplay....no other fighter out there is as smooth and fluid in gameplay dynamics as SF...hence being in so many tournaments...SF is well balanced game...there are counters for everymove...and you can destroy a novice who button mashes...its not just about special moves...COMBOS...are the best thing in SF...no other fighter can compare...it takes skill to do a FADC vs...tekken button combo and MK button kombo..

Who care's about which is the more skillful game?, In both Tekken and Mortal Kombat the more skillful player will always beat the button basher.
Combos?, Streetfighter combos are so limited largely because of balancing. In Tekken for example, a good juggler can finish you off if you make one mistake, chaining combo after combo to the KO. If that's not "hardcore" I don't know what is.

A good ground game is just as important in Tekken as are mind games. A solid defense will keep you from getting into a juggle. Basically, the long juggles are a punishment for defensive failure.

There's a reason why Tekken has 100+ moves for each character. It adds more depth to the ground game. Street fighter has a SO much more to do. Sure, there's 100 moves for characters but there not that different. There just faster/stronger punches or longer punches. Whereas street fighter has focus atacks and projectiles..I could go on.
Go and watch a tekken tournament match and then a street fighter one. You will know what I mean.

You're really not understanding what I'm getting at. To play Streetfighter properly, you need a £60-£100 fightstick; that's a steep price just for one game. Tekken on the other hand isn't fightstick orientated, its button layout favours a gamepad. On a gamepad Streetfighter moves are often unresponsive, largely because the gamepad analog sticks weren't designed with that level of precision in mind. People have mastered it but I do not wish to only play Streetfighter.

Do you play with a fightstick or a gamepad?; I've tried mastering Street Fighter with a gamepad and can only use characters with stick 360 rotations properly. As for the rest, it's hit and miss if I perform the move or not. As for "up,up" and "down,down" inputs, regardless of the speed I input them, I either jump or squat and don't pull-off the special. Because of this, I don't enjoy playing SF on consoles.
On a side note, I'm looking forward to Street Fighter VS Tekken. Looks good.

Tekken as some of the most micromanaging skill in a fighting game ive ever played, Theres guys out there that create their own juggle combo's from 100% health to 0%. Creating their own button sequences that are 75+ Button taps. Street fighter on the other hand.... Spin analog frantically while slamming your face on the button pad.

Tekken is like checkers. Street Fighter is like chess.
Checkers doesn't need as much technical skill. People can learn it fairly fast, and like it. You can spend more time playing and less time practicing
Chess on the other hand, will take some time to get used to. You will get destroyed your first few times, which is discouraging; But when you learn it, and see the critical thinking/strategy involved, you love it. The downside is, you need patience, whereas with checkers you can just dig in.

Tekken is a button masher. and dont tell me "its not true". my friend have TEKKEN 6 on his X360 and he play it all the time. one day i went to his house and played with him TEKKEN 6 and i kicked his ass just by mashing the buttons. SFIV is real skill and you can never do a move if your just mash buttons. also SFIV is way more balanced than TEKKEN 6. even if some characters are stronger than others in SF IV, you have the ultra move that can change the battle completly.

@JokeEmperor; Maybe Tekken has more combos I don't think "limiteless" but in street fighter IV, now with the new canceling move; you can actually create new combos and no stick to the custom ones; all depends in which character you're using; you can cancel special moves and regular hits so that gives you a bigger range.. the only difference is that Street Fighter is all about timing so you have to be Really good at it to pull out crazy combos(I am not but I like playing SF. and tekken sometimes)

@JokeEmperor You're a moron you can do juggles in Tekken 5 that take off WELL over half life, look up Tekken 5 juggles. Dan is a joke character, but every other character you see players play them in tournaments. You NEVER see characters like Roger and Alex, or Panda, in any Tekken tournaments.
No combos in tekken are already preset, you press certain buttons one after the other, and the character does a specific animation, SF4 you can do as many if you can time it right and have enough EX.

@rtc7788 Somebody was using Kuma at MLG Dallas 2010 and Hankuma, one of the best Tekken players out there, mained Kuma for quite a while before switching to Leo within the past 6 months. I know I've seen someone use Roger Jr. on Tekken Crash also. I'm not gonna argue about SF or Tekken being better. I just wanted to point that out. The bears are no joke.

@laconic6 Actually i've played every Tekken, and made it up to "Marauder" rank in Tekken 6. The combos are SIMPLE in Tekken 6, just press button after the other. Whereas SF4 requires way more skill you have to press each button at the precise frame, requires you to FADC, etc. Just fire hadoukens all day and you'll beat everybody? Yeah you just lost all credibility on that one. If the game was so simple it wouldn't be the #1 competitive fighting game in the world.

Unlike Tekken where its very beginner friendly, where combos are simple and preset while theres no damage scaling so you can do like half life damage in a simple combo someone can do after playing for only 15 minutes.

@JokeEmperor Juggling has always been in Tekken. It's ridiculous you can juggle your opponent in the air until over half their life is gone. Street Fighter 4 has VERY VERY limited air combos, you can maybe hit them once or twice in the air. No its not just 3 moves. SF4 has CUSTOM combos, meaning you can mix it up with jab forward, fadc, cancel into other combos at certain frames, while Tekken has set combos, press this button one after the other, etc.

Street Fighter has a wider Fan base, gets higher ratings and sells more. Tekken is cool just not as good. Tekken is more hardcore which i like but SF is still much better. and in tekken 6 you can tell namco is lazy while capcom's SF isn't nearly as lazy. Street Fighter takes more skill than Tekken. street fighter and tekken are both awesome u fanboys should just shut up already, i mean we are getting Tekken x Street fighter, and u guys are worried about the stupidest things, i swear....anyways cant wait for the game, both games are gonna kick ass

for all who think tekkens better then SF your tight cause look at the engine there using SF engine your tight its obvious why tho because sf is much more popular and it brings people from across the globe into 1 place and play if you dont know im talking about evo but bottom line sf is king if it was not for sf tekken wouldint even have all this hype and a vs series capcon did it with snk marvel darkstalkers and now tekken SF created the vs series so all who oppose that hold that on your chest
