  • I'm so envious of the slimmy worms under your care and protection.Patti you're a true nurturer. They shall dwell in compfort under your watchful eyes the lucky lilttle red wigglers...

  • There's nothing sexier than a woman on her knees with a hand full of slimmy wiggly worms. An appreciation for life and god creation,it take inner beauty, patient and understanding. It's not something a self absorbed woman take interest in,it takes interest, tender care and selflessness to care for other living creatures.Patti you got a big heart, there's room in your heart for more than just yourself.Ignorant breed fear, understanding breed compassion and love for life however great and small.

  • When and how do you get the compost out and isnt there some kind of worm juice that you have to drain off? Im new at this but I want to start one with my son. Thanks for all your videos its very informative!!

  • I gave her my worm tea :)!!

  • Sorry. Good effort, but not explained and demonstrated well enough. Should be using only red worms or other vermicomposting worms. Not worms out of the garden. Soil dwelling worms don't live in only organic matter. And what you are doing is vermicomposting (raising worms to make worm manure), not vermiculture (raising worms to multiply them).

  • Would it be alright to add in your rabbit's litter box or rat/ mouse cage cleanout? my enclosures are only lined with phone books or news paper. I'm sure they are fine in the compost but could it be bad for worms?

  • This morning when I opened my bin there was mold in it. Can you tell me why and will it hurt the worms?

  • woooo so cool !!!

is it possible for u to post some follow up videos?

like, how it looks like now? Thanks!

  • Hey Patti, enjoying your vid but interrupted my pleasure for a mo' just to ask, did you forget to mention a need for knee pads in this project?

Btw a friend of ours invested thousands in what was expected to be a highly profitable business selling worms for fish bait . . but they sent her the WRONG worms and she couldn't give them away fast enough to keep up with the (worm) population explosion in her basement.

As luck would have it, her home burned to the ground & she'll never raise worms again

  • Bel video

  • subbed indeed!

  • 2 cool!!!

  • 2 cool!!!!

  • so why are those particular worms the best for that project, and how long will it take to actually be able to have usable compost? i like this idea. :D

  • Neumím anglicky používám překladač. Při kompostování novinového papíru se přece uvolňují z něho těžké tiskařské barvy a kovy, ty zůstávají v půdě a v živočišných druzích zvířat . Chápu, že u květin to lidem neškodí.

  • I have two questions.. one is that I live in a place where we recycle newspaper and junk mail.. do you think it's better to recycle or are they really helpful for my compost?

the next question is.. my compost is outside, in my backyard, in a small 4x4 fenced in area.. should I add earth worms to it? Should I stir the compost every so often?

  • Yikes, I'm too squemish to do this, but I would like to overcome. great idea. But what about maintenance? How often do you water? Get the compost out without removing the worms, how much does it make? Need more info please

  • What about air holes on the top. Do they need that?

  • @rustyjoints

In the top lid? No. But she did drill holes around the top sides just below the lid. This allows sufficient ventilation though I'm a fan of overkill and would have put a few more in. Don't forget, you can drill more holes if necessary, but you can't plug holes very well so drill few, if that's not sufficient, add a few. You'll figure out what works.

  • Thanks for sharing this informations!

  • Ugh... I would probably do this all wrong. :/

  • when do you put the kitchen scraps in and how much?

  • everyday and everything that i have.

  • Awesome video. Thanks for the info!

  • nice vid

  • god she is so sexy

  • @107glen no.

  • @107glen And she can build stuff. dude take a number she really is hott.

  • @fred5399 lmao

  • : )

  • Good job.

  • I know this isn't a popular idea or question, but wouldn't it benefit the landfills to have organic material to aid in the break down of non-synthetic materials? I mean, wouldn't that be advantageous to the planet?

  • Most organic material does not decompose well in landfills as they are too tightly packed.

A landfill study conducted by University of Arizona researchers uncovered still-recognizable 25-year-old hot dogs, corncobs and grapes in landfills, as well as 50-year-old newspapers that were still readable.

  • Thanks, that makes sense then doesn't it. Thank you for clearing that up for me.

  • Neat project that anyone should be able to do.

I do have a question. Does anyone have a clue about whether colored ink on the newsprint is bad stuff or not? I've seen some people say that all newsprint is okay, and some who say only the black ink is non-toxic. Any printers out there have the straight dope on this?

  • That is a hard one. Originally newspaper ink was toxic, just as the ink in Phone books. - However, many printers have moved to 'soy based' inks and more 'earth friendly' inks that are not as toxic - but it would be hard to say which and who are producing eco-friendly newspapers.

You'd have to research but many just used containers and packaging they know to only use vegetable inks and untreated paper.

Anything glossy is most likely toxic with varnish. But most newspapers have gone to soy ink.

  • I want to marry a woman like Patti Moreno. Good god, she's brilliant and gorgeous!
