  • 4:40. that's all i have to say.

  • This jam was tight back in the 80s. The 80s had so many hits. So many memories.

  • Put on some skates and experience the magic of movements that you thought you could not do on wheels while the beat of this song groove. Those were some fun days.

  • Takes me back my youth....shoots, Im still a youth!....lol.......good times with this song....many great memories

  • ahhhh yeah.I was clicking to the song are you single and this one popped up,this was my jam to

  • I remember going to the park in colorado springs on a nice warm sunny saturday afternoon and let the girls wash my mustang while I played music on my boom box, awesome, then went to the clubs at night and jammed to this, awesome.

  • used to jam on Aurra when my kids were little. They still love them, and put the rap down to jam on them with dad.

  • you young generation you got raped from good funkay jammz, they TOOK this and gave you the dumshit yall lissen 2 !! Such a funkin shame!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @javalin2213 Never 'used to'...will 'always' be!!!! I know you know!!

  • that bass is like pancake syrup y'all

  • @hollowmenrule definitely thick sweet and rich - damn wheres my pancakes?

  • I have to agree with a number of other posters..... This is where musicians had to be just that → MUSICIANS !

  • I completely 4got they sung this song. Luv it!

  • aurra was off the hook, band was awesome.word about that auto-tune markerting genius, can we get a break.don t even try to play the radio here in ny no more, shit is bubblegummm rappers.only a handfull put in the work.no body playin instruments.those that are not gettin no radio love.peace out to all u real music lovers, somebody gotta represent it.

  • This sounds SO MUCH BETTER than my old radio dubs! Thank God for Sound Blaster!!!

  • This sound great in a club!

  • They played this jam on mega 100.1 modesto/stockton old school station today! Great jam sick bass line! Can wait for summer!!!!

  • All praise deserved to the late great Han Soloer but Drac damn he rips a bad 6 string solo at the end of this, young Drac was bad, where did these guys get this astounding creativity at such a young age Stevie Washington,Curt and Starlena too.

  • Put em together Stevie in Dayton,Ohio

  • Steve Washington all over this song with that bassline so no clues guys :)

  • @nwlarry Steve ripped that bass line good, I couldnt never get that intro like him.

  • where is producer steve washington time for the slave ,Aurra, steve arrington, buddy Hankerson reunion show

  • @barrabas357 Last I heard, Steve was still in E. Orange with an outfit called The Department of Funk Research and Transfer. It was a record label that had a few artists signed, but that was back in the early to mid-90s,

  • Use to jam on this at roller rink that use to be up in West Hollywood that got tored down

  • Britain was musically desolate for much of 1982, New Romantic was dead and we were force fed such bland acts as Madness, Shakin Stevens and Adam and the Ants... you had to stay up till 1 in the morning to hear cool stuff like this from Radio Luxembourg lol.

  • @SeventiesMania So true i remember being station in Nuremberg GE and I listen to the station in Luxembourg when I could get it. Now they used to jam.

  • Slave Roots can you hear it?

  • @abston60 steve washington the slave group founder also formed aurra

  • Slave Roots

  • the last time i heard this classic joint was back in 81 .lol....

  • For some reason, the opening 20 seconds of this song always hit me hard like a brick. Aurra was very dope and had a lot more joints than the casual listener might even realize.

  • Check out that funky bass lick, they need to bring back funky bass like that again.

  • This groove is straight muscular! The beef that's hittin' in that thumb thumpin' bass line, the musical choreography between the ethereal bass track, rhythm and rock guitar solo licks is pure genius! The autotuned crap that's happenin' right now is played! People are screamin' for somethin' new. I'm a record producer/multi-instrumentalist from the 90's influenced by the 70's and 80's. All of a sudden, we are in demand, again. I think you know why. ☮

  • big tune

  • This used to sound so good on the house stereo back in the day. Well, it STILL sounds good on a nice system.

  • hI, i'M LOOKING FOR A TUNE with the lyrics...."Partners in CRIME, way down the line"....cannot remember who sang the soul classic...can someone let me know

  • cani get a leed or bass cover on this here $%#t !!

  • @PumasNFatLaces:

Slave was all over this joint, in fact it was produced by Steve Washington. If you check out the Slave Stone Jam LP, which was released a few months before this Aurra LP (1981), Kurt and Starr were singing background on it as well................ Peace

  • I look back now ,there were lots of superb records out at the time- but this has a certain something - even now after so very long it still feels the same somehow ?

  • la ya rien a dire c'est du bon son a l'ancienne

  • Weren't these two original Slave members? If so, no wonder they were able to compose such great music!

  • No, they weren't original members of Slave but they did appear on one maybe two of Slave's albums. The "Just A Touch Of Love" project they were on for sure.

  • your'e correct they first appeared on the album "just a touch of love" but they layed down some great tracks, very underated.

  • I agree I loved Aurra from the jump, extremely underrated group.

  • Party time in L.A. when this came out, ladies night, sports night and doing the smurf!

  • Hey dvstiger, I'm from Detroit too. And your right, that was and still is the jam. Can anyone tell me if Steve Washington (former leader/trumpeter for slave) taught himself how to play lead on guitar?Or did Drac and Mark Adams?

  • Heyroz27 You are the best!!!!

  • This used to sound so good coming out of the console stereo. I almost forgot about this and "Are You Single." It is great hearing this song again.

  • Damn, this is a jam..

  • One of the toughest jams in the world and it could still get the dancefloor jumpin'.The newschool can't fuck with jams like this.

I can't stand none of that new r&b and new rap. This is where it's at.I've said it before and I'll say it again; "Ol'school forever!"

  • got that right

  • @cheetie72 you hit it on the head . the dance floor would be slammed when the dj played this song. Im with you with all this new crap they play now a days you cant even understand they are saying. Ole skool is THE BEST.
