I believe this is more of a reaction to the new technology that was expanding in a manner that people now don't truly understand. They were more than likely listening to what the camera man had piped through his ear phones (which back then were strictly a think for professionals and not for general consumers). They're listening to themselves talking and the audio... continued...

The entire magical mystery tour cd was based on John Lennon's dreams. Not about drugs. They did LSD and smoked pot. They acted like idiots on here to make people laugh, and because that is their sense of humor. This is not "proof" of anything

Crack is a synthesized drug, not available until the late 70's at the earliest, not "discovered" until the 80's.
