I got a question where did you get your rear tail light covers I've looked everywhere can not find the original hella covers. I'm also restoring a 1968 beetle. thats the reason I am asking
wow.... always loved the sound of a VW automatic starting. I had the same color beetle, a 1970, with the Automatic Stickshift, as it was called in the US. You've done a beautiful job with the car!
Just a standard muffler fitted with aftermarket 'flared' tail pipes. look similiar to standard pipes but wider. eliminates the common 'whistle' sound and is replaced with a more deeper rumble. Not too noisy, and road legal ! the wider pipes taper so they fit into the standard muffler hole.
Well, We don't really have any problems with the 009 with the Solex carbies used in Australia.. they had pollution controls on the USA cars.. I was just thinking of buying a SVDA carby from the USA.. CIP1..
but My car goes great..
Your engine is sooo smooth.. didn't even move when you revved .. UNREAL..
Thanks again - yeah i noticed that too - the first bug i had that ran so smooothly.....I will see how i go with the 009 under load - if there is any noticeable hesitation i will throw in a SVDA myself....otherwise my money will go towards a roof rack and a set of sprintstars...........vrooom baby !
G'Day Lee, thanks for the comments. California Dreaming is a DJ mixed version by Benny Benassi - added a bit of modern twist to a 60's feel - more or less a retro for a resto ! Can't believe engine runs so good with a 009, would have expected flat spots. I am very pleased so far....I'll re-assess once i get it road registered and do some mileage..
NAME OF THE SONG!!!! PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!! jajaj

I love the Euro amber tail lights. In 1984, i ordered a set for my 1968 bug. Damm I wish I had that car back.

Yes,
I love driving Mine too...
the 009 is slow at the uptake Daniel
as it depends on the engine revving by the fuel pumped into the carby by the accelerator pump
with the SVDA dizzy, the vacuum activates the advance.. before it even revs... Mine goes extra well
the electronic high energy ignition system really made a difference...
it felt like heaps more horsepower..
maybe the 009 likes the extra spark..
cheers
