SzQsk8- it is a blanket on his casket. It's one based of a painting by the artist Greg Olson, called: "In his Light" the blanket reminded of us of him. That is why it was used.

First- his name is Derek he was not a teen, he was 25 and he was my fiance.

Smiling- Because his family and myself know the greater plan the Lord has for us Where he is at is a better place. And one day we will see and be with him again.

Death is not the end.

I am sorry for your loss. God bless until you meet again. We as humans sometimes can comprehend why some mourn but others are happy. God rejoices when one of His own returns home. Imo, it is a skewed balance. Celebrate life while grieving over someone we love(d).

Derek my thoughts are with you in heaven. My prayers for your family. I fear my sons maybe together oneday and having the time of thier life and end up both dead. I couldn't make it with out them. I hope you the parents are okay

@carlkacy Sometimes during a eulogy they will tell stories including funny ones and people will laugh. Sometimes funerals are a mixture of joy and sadness. Show some respect and lose the ignorance.

I mean no disrespect, but the people in these photos look like they are at a family reunion, rather than at a funeral. Maybe it`s just me, but a life cut so short, if that was my brother,son, etc, I would be crying my eyes out. Sorry for your loss though.
