I beat the game already and am on my second play through, but I first beat it when it came out. I forgot how much I hated this chapter because of the marine Necromorphs. They scare the crap out of me. I have to stop playing every now and then because I get freaked out. Oh well, they make the game funner, but scarier.

ive got dead space on the 360 so im trying to get the one gun achievement, so im only using the first gun you get in the game. it actually makes the game easier, you only have to upgrade one gun, and you can just pick up and sell the other ammo, giving you more money and saving inventory slots. RESULT!

why would you play on hard? upon finishing the game you get the survivor trophy/acheivement even if you play on easy/medium/hard. you should go easy, then go impossible to get the epic tier 3 engineer trophy/acheivement

Is anyone else bugged by the fact the valor a ship full of space marines was taken down by a single necro? I mean cmon Issac the mopey engineer has taken out hundreds and thousands with a plasma cutter you'd think guys armed to the teeth could mow one down with a few clips.

Well that is where the problem lies. They didn't have a pink bat thing in the pod to transform people. It was just that one claw zombie and even if you don't cut the limbs off filling it with enough lead will still do the trick.

The reason the soldiers got infected was because the virus (or bacteria?) that makes necromorphs doesn't have to be spread through the Infectors.  I don't know the other way its spread, but the ones that the infector creates are the black ones while the pink ones are infected the other way.

At least I think thats right...

The people on the Ishimura survived long enough to know how to take the monsters down once and for all. Since the people on the other ship had no idea why the aliens weren't dying, that's probably why they couldn't survive.

Perhaps I can clear this up: The people on the Ishimura had survived long enough to figure out how to kill the Necromorphs. The guys on the Valor (the military ship) had never seen them before, and thus hadn't learned the "strategic dismemberment" trick that the player utilizes so much throughout the game.

Thus, the bloodbath that is now the USM Valor.

In the game storyline there has been no evidence of alien life before, so they didn't know they would meet hostile forces. They probably just thought they we're having some engineering trouble.
