  • if i like the book or the comic, i cant like the movie.

never heard of watchmen comic b4, movie was great.

considering how bad hollywood is now, i think it was awesome! - but if hollywood wasnt so shit it would be a good B+ for me. (dvd purchases are only for A+++) like to keep a small collection.

  • could you do a review of x-men origins: wolverine when it comes out please?

  • Last Rants is a Watchmen review? Bait-and-switch!

  • Overall I liked Watchmen the movie, but I thought it was the alley fight with Nite Owl and Silk Spectre was kind of inappropriate. I'm not a prude or anything but Nite Owl seems so offended and against the kind of violence that the Comedian uses (as seen in that riot scene), yet when they get mugged in the alleyway they brutally massacre the gang members.

  • Agree, way over the top

  • Fascinating discussion towards the end there, CCW. It really says something about films' growing grotesqueries if something so grituitous as Roschach chopping a man in the head repetedly is what it taked to elicit the same reaction as a man merely having to choose between sawing his arm off or dying so many years ago. Fascinating topic, in deed.

  • Patrick Wilson (Nite Owl) Wilson actually made me like Nite Owl even more than I did in the comic. Jackie Earl Haley ruled as Rorshach completely, it made me want to search for more of this acor's work.

Jeffery Dean Morgan as the Comedian, impressed and I think he's gonna get a major boost from this ala Gerard Butler in "300"

  • The Good: Rorshach, Nite Owl, first 20 mins (including the opening title sequence) and Dr. Manhattan's origin.

The Bad: The ENDing , Silk Spectre II, the music was too on the nose, Silk Spetre I was way to hammy.

  • Yes, the music felt very inappropriate at times. Namely the Nite Owl and Specters sex scene in Archie. Very bad choise of music there.

  • I don't know if the choice of music was on purpose or simply bad taste, either way it distracted the hell out of me.

I get it's set in the 80's no need to bash us over the head with that fact. I'd prefer traditional score.

  • If you've ever seen the Watchmen Motion Comic, the music there is done far more fittingly than the theatrical film.

  • Watchmen was pretty good for what it was, I didn't go in expecting for it to be the "Best Movie Ever" I liken it to Blade Runner. It's not a perfect flick, but it really tried to push the limits of what a superhero movie could be.
