I feel like Adams could have had something there. I just do not see it though. The funny thing is that all the moves seem straight-forward for a gm game.
excellent game but your comments made wanna fall asleep. Put more pep in your step. You gotta talk lively and make us wanna be involved instead of talking like a college early history teacher. Not teasing you but sincerely telling you how I felt. Hope you make it as constructive criticism.
After Qxc2, I think the idea is just Rfc8, Queen's only square is d2, black takes the knight on f4 w/ the queen and black's a pawn up and white has no compensation, with just about every piece ready to attack the king some more. I guess Adams just didn't want to test Kasparov's endgame abilities. It probably was a good idea. Any extra time he would have wasted playing out the loss he could spend in analysis in stead.
the bishop is protecting b2 as well, so, it looks that the knight could stop the attack but actually he would just delay the mate after rook b2, knight takes, queen takes and it's mate!
QC7 defends the d6 pawn and holds control of the semi-open c file, also controls the long diagonal which can be useful in the future. Standard theory, nothing too significant about the move.

the reason why adams resigned was because after queen xc2 then bishop xb2 followed by knight x b2 and initially it looks alright for white but rook xb2 is curshing forcing the queen to take and then the final move is swinging the rook over to b8 pinning the queen and its all gone from there
In the end if Rxb2 and having Qxb2 whereby your point is to move the rook to b8 pinning queen and king, white's queen can simply take the rook and black is totally down in material. White's attack will continue as the black queen is already threatening a8.
fischer s style like a computer ? you are kidding! pure artistic, total opposite to scientific approach, u have a lot to learn my friend. maybe computers embraced fischer s style !
If (at the end) now Qxc2, then either Rb3 or Bc6 appears to win. Rxb2 doesnt appear to win because white has Bc1. The point is to get the Knight at a4.
If Qxc2, then Rb3!. After Qxc2, Rxb2+ cant win because of Bc1. Instead of Rb3, Bc6 seems possible also.
If Qxc2 Rxb2+ Nxb2 Rb8 Bc1, white wins. Also, if after Qxc2 black instead plays Qxa4, white would still win with Qxa4 Rxb2+ after black's attack burns out.

That Nxc2 move Kasparov made is similar to the type of combinations computers make. One of Kasparov's influences was the scientific style of Fischer's, which is similar to the style of computers. Kasparov has stated that Fischer's style is "like a computer" and that Fischer was the greatest player of all time.
nice game
