  • @godluvsmormons And for the record, light is radiation. You should be very careful before saying things like "scientists theorize that there was a protective layer" because, apart from the fact that the statement is just plain wrong, you have chosen to wilfully ignore ALL the worlds leading scientists in holding your beliefs. And as I have said before, there is no purpose in the world, I would suggest you look up the anthropic principle, the entire universe does not exist just for you and me.

  • atlasshrugged, you are blind to reason, it takes NO faith to be an athiest, we seek to understand the world in a way that is satisfying to our constantly evolving brain. You are happy to be blind to detail. And for the record, YOU ignore millions of people who believe in different gods.

  • it takes faith for a person who has seen the order, complexity, and obvious intelligence in the "natural world" up close and first hand to dismiss the possibility of God. The word "atheism" means "without a teaching of God" so it does therefore take faith to be an atheist, if indeed the atheist is informed about the world and universe. An atheist who simply rejects God based on emotions or misinformed questions that are left unanswered like "why do bad things happen?" are just confused

  • @godluvsmormons I have seen the complexity of the world, and I can't help but notice the many faults. There are for instance numerous examples of over engineering in the animal kingdom (the laryngeal nerve of a giraffe is a popular one) or the imperfections in the human eye that require our brain to flip the light before building an image. Are you suggesting that your designer is incompetent? I will not fabricate a suspiciously humanoid god to answer questions that I cannot.

  • @SaganNotPagan No, I am not suggesting that God is flawed, but some things to consider before you talk about God as a "fabricated" being. 1. The overwhelming evidence in the order and purpose of the world and the universe is that it was not a random, senseless act, but done deliberately and intelligently 2. Order NEVER comes from chaos, never. 3. If you read and meditate on the scriptures, you will begin to understand that the changes that happened because of man's sin did not just affect-cont

  • @SaganNotPagan cont- affect the human race, but the world and indeed quite possibly the universe in turn. Before man sinned, there was no disease, not in humans or in the animal kingdom. Before the fall, there was a perfect balance in nature, there was no rain, because the water needed to nourish the plants came from underground. Many Christians who are scientists theorize that there was a protective layer between the sky and the ground that allowed only good light, and not radiation to -cont

  • @SaganNotPagan to filter through, and that made all inhabitants of the earth healthy and free of mutation and defect. Sin changed a LOT, not just man's standing before God, but it destroyed paradise, and ushered in an era of depletion of resources, floods, earthquakes and droughts that will eventually culminate in the destruction of this world, and the making of a new earth on which all of God's people will live as they once did in Eden. Note the decrease of age limit from Adam's day to now....

  • @godluvsmormons the average lifespan of humans has only ever increased with the progression of time, there is nothing to note regarding "Adam's time" as Adam clearly never existed. For the human race to have descended from your biblical pair there would have had to have been a colossal amount of inbreeding. As you clearly believe in the literal interpretation of the creation story (which no intellectually credible theologians do) how do you cope with the huge weight of evidence against you?

  • @SaganNotPagan Adam and Eve were perfect genetic "prototypes" if you will, with no genetic flaws or diseases that could be passed to the next generation. It was not until the destructive results of sin became fully evident that men began to live a shorter lifespan. People who automatically dismiss any possibility of a divine origin of life or God would overlook these things, thinking them to be excuses, much like most of the "science" that they try to shove down the throats of unsuspecting-cont

  • @SaganNotPagan -cont- school kids, but to suggest that there is no rational and or scientific defense that can be made of the Bible is foolhardy at best. I see no evidence against the Bible at all, and I have thoroughly reviews most of it. There is a geneticist named Fazale Rana that wrote a very in depth and convincing book giving intelligent and thoroughly accurate evidence of creation from a scientific standpoint. A perfect genetic parent could reproduce with it's offspring indefinitely

  • Its Great to see & hear this man & how he has come to the conclusion he has, I have to say that I took a similar journey. I like Randall took the intellectual route until I myself had cancer, so I then started to look at all the medical & scientific facts & proof. I came to the same conclusion as he did, God is real, we was made by a creator. To all who still try to deny all this please open your eyes to the facts & to the truth, don't turn your backs & deny the truth. God Bless you all.

  • There's a lot more doctors and scientists that have changed their way of thinking towards God BECAUSE of their continued findings, work and research. If their honest with themselves, and not being lazy in their thinking and sumizing, then they can't help but question...

  • LOL! I love it.

It actually takes MORE faith to be an atheist than it does to be a Christian!! It reminds me of the scripture that says "Where is the wise man where is the scholar where is the philosopher of this age, Has not god made foolish the wisdom of this world" I love it

  • @atlasshrugged2u That makes no sense that it takes more faith to be an atheist! The kind of faith we have as Christians is defined as belief that is not based on proof or belief in god or in the doctrines or teachings of religion.

  • @cnj4200 Faith in God is most certainly based on proof, not scientific evidence yet evidence nonetheless! For ex: Could you ask a person to give you 2lbs of love or 4 liters of hope? No, because emotions aren't measured like that. God requires a different form of "proof" He is spritual not physical ,therefore can not be measured by physical means. He is outside of time and space and can not be "put under a microscope" yet the proof of him is all around.

You have to WANT to see it.

  • @atlasshrugged2u I agree but I am talking about measured proof. You cannot see God physically like we see each other but we have faith he exists even though we don't see him. Yes, everywhere there is blatent evidence he is real. You have to want to see but also you have to be chosen by God. If they are not chosen, they will never see and understand. The bible speaks of this. Sometimes people are blind until it is their time to see but sometimes they never will because they are never chosen to.

  • @cnj4200 Your exactly right! It does say one is chosen by God. That's the scary part; I wouldn't know what to say to someone who asks me why they are not "chosen" by God to see what is obvious to a believer.

What would you say to someone like that just in case I encounter that question?

  • @cnj4200 It takes more faith to be an athiest because the evidence of a Creator is all around us. Athiest ignore nature, the sun the moon, the changing of Seasons, the fundamental change in a person that credits God. They also ignore millions of people who acknowledge God; who knows this is not all there is. (Are we all wrong? forget Religion) They very conveniently choose not to see it because it demands a "personal response" on their part of an Authority, and that's their problem.

  • you people ambushed me. i wanted to refresh myself on secular humanism and i got a slanted essay on how athiests have taken over our public schools. grow up. you're losing. Thomas Jefferson said that truth will rise to the top in the marketplace of ideas and the truth is this: religion has a corrosive effect on public institutions and should remain seperate from public life (hence, the first amendment).
