Saw this at the Aquarius Theater in LA with Rado and Ragni as Claude and Berger. Mind was reasonably blown. Lotta smoke in the air but not needed, musical was enough of a trip. Got up on stage with some of the audience at the end, boogied with Jennifer Warnes. Ironically, as iconoclastic as it was, it was also just about the Last of the multi-hit B' way musicals. After this Webber/Rice showed that all you have to have is one big hit per show and the rest could be dross. Alas.
This is the orginal cast recording of the first Broadway production from 1968. Unmistakable for the sound, the charm and the rough edges - and the album sleeve art : )

My Grandfather worked on this show in Boston in 1967.He did all the lighting and sound.

I don't know when the age of aquarius began, but I think it ended when they started using songs from "Hair" in TV commercials.
