Well after the dragonball manga ended there were a series of books that came out with illustrations and were like Dragonball encyclopedias for the manga, anime, and movies. In the book it says that Saiyan's life expectancy is similar to a human's but they retain their youthfulness much longer.

Vegeta once explained that Saiyans die in battle. So their full lives are never there to study. I suppose that could allow you to come to the conclusion that saiyans don't die of old age.

I'm assuming you're talking about the GT movie (A Hero's Legacy). Anything GT related is not canon. In that movie Goku is not still alive, Pan sees him in the crowd of people at the World Martial Arts tournament for a few seconds and then he vanishes. at the end of GT Goku doesn't die and the movie where Pan is old is a continuation of GT. Which again is in no way canon.

a side story means that it isn't apart of the main timeline and story, which means that it isn't canon.
