  • It doesn't matter were you are from, the blue collar worker is getting knifed in the back by big business and high paid CEO's that when they leave for not doing a good job, there pockets are filled with millions of dollars while the factory workers get nothing but a kick in the $@*%.

  • You said it, buddy.

Nobody listened then, but they're sure as hell listening now!!!

  • Maytag had way to many workers taking advantage of the workman's comp program and were always out on medical leave for a variety of reasons (stress, sore, etc.) collecting a check when they could damn well be working. I don't blame Maytag for leaving. (I didn't say all of the workers, just too many)

  • Idf the fed was a little kinder to big business from a tax sense, your job would still be here. Look at Obama and Hilary, still talking about 'sticking it to corporate america'. You don't stick it to them, you NEED them.

  • But you have to remember. Bill Clinton started NAFTA/FTA

  • I bet there are more jobs in Iowa than Michigan. I work in a seniority plant. I used to have 50 some people below me and now I have 9. If I were to lose my job I would never make what I do now. I'm just glad I have a skilled job. They whacked a ton of non-skilled jobs. Good luck man.

  • @RayAir1

Update: Got laid off Oct 2009. Still out of work to date.

  • say, if your looking for work here in Iowa. do what i am going to do. leave. jobs are all dried up here. unless you want to work for RED NECKS! oh state jobs are a waist of time.been there done that! so move out asap. while you have some cash in your pocket.
