  • this song reminds me of the one that got away from me and left me black and blue he dead now oh! well i out lived him.

  • THIS should have been a single, and this clip should have served as the video!

  • What a great looking guy, and great voice! Barry's the best.

  • I fell in love with this song the first time I heard it. Sad she's gone.

  • Beautiful sadness, sweet blue black heartache, she takes me in takes it there makes me remember when love was fair not some hard shell sale of electronic emoting I can't take seeing such a beautiful talent lost, it litteraly breaks my heart and fucks me up for the rest of the night

  • this is from Barry Manilow's "Swing Street" album released in 1987

  • WOW! What album is this from, and who's on the horn? This is currently my favorite Barry Manilow song...

  • Awesome to hear these two sing together. Barry and Phyllis had a good rapport from when he produced her stunning tune "Somewhere In My Lifetime" : )

  • i come back to this clip almost every week! I love this song!

  • Yes a very nice clip and Duo by Barry M & Diva Phyllis a Queen in her own right and still MISSED very much..I liked Barry's song 'I Write The Songs' as well...

  • Very Very Nice....

  • I remember this show, but it's been so long that I totally forgot about this song. Phyllis & Barry sounded great together. I've also been a Manilow fan since the

    70s. :-)

  • i love the slow motion black and white shots of phyllis, make me kinda sad tho...

  • me either, and am now telling the world yes, I have been a closet Barry manilow fan, my Sister was a little more braver than I as a teen in the 70's, she brought the dual album he had, I listened but now around my friends....hey I'm almost 50 it's time to own up

    peace :)

  • LOL!!!

  • dam i wish phyllis was still here...it really makes me sad sometimes...

    Mr. Chip's

  • This video is nice and Phyllis Hyman looked great!!!!!!!

  • what year was this?

  • Barry Manilow: Big Fun on Swing Street (1988)

  • I LOVE THIS SONG!!!!!!!!!!!it's so cool. da beat and everything. why wasn't this a hit. I mean the man that write the songs and the sophsticated lady on a track 2gether. this shoulda been timeless.

  • Man - I wish I had the courage to listen to Phyllis Hyman sing. I have the volume turned all the way off cos it just hurts to much. I remember when they aired Swing Street on CBS back in the day and this was my favorite segment of the show. Thanks for posting! Man, I miss my girl...

  • ATS68, I hear you. It does hurt

  • @ATS68 I used to feel that way about hearing Phyllis' voice after her unfortunate passing. However, I feel lots of joy listening to her music now. She sang and performed with a truth that can't be denied. And that truth was not always connected to misery. When Phyllis found a song with a lyric she liked, she LOVED performing it. It is there that she found her personal joy.

  • @ATS68

:( ...aww, I feel (understand) you.

  • aaaaahhhh, its back!!
