  • Who was the pianist in this recording??

  • It's a pity it didn't win the Oscars... but most of it is recycled stuff from Beethoven's works. Just shows how much good old Ludwig was =P

  • woah, 209 likes and 0 dislikes o-o

  • And this has no dislikes. I feel Beethoven would be proud.

  • Your Majesty, I am speechless.

  • Let us lay down what we all know as true.

The Kings Speech, Best picture NOT The social network

How to Train Your Dragon, Best Music Thanks to John Powel

And Hans Zimmer for 4 for one film...

    How about them apples hchacon8

  • @121UniversalCritic

I completely agree how anyone can think this didn't deserve the Best picture Oscar

How in gods name The social network one best soundtrack was a joke!! John Powells work was insane.

I was a little sad that Daft Punks effort wasn't even nominated. But u can't always win

  • I LOVED the King's Speech, and I like the music, but honestly! In terms of music, True Grit should of won - it had such a beautiful theme, so touching.

  • Super amazing, wonderful, moving....classic.

  • the social network is best...and inception soundtrack too...thanks to God this film didn't win in this category...it was enough with the best picture category

  • @hchacon8 Social Network sucked. the plot sucked and there was barely a soundtrack. As for inception, Zimmer is too big and brash and clumsy. Black Swan should have won best picture and this best soundtrack

  • @Medusa0999 i agree with you that black swan is an amazing film ( maybe the best of the year), and it is a shame that it didn't receive an oscar nomination for the soundtrack instead the king's speech.

  • @hchacon8 FYI, the reason Black Swan didn't get a nom was because 80-85% of its score was derived from Tchaikovsky.

  • this music was written hundreds of years ago by beethoven, it is amazing but i dont know if it qualifies to win an oscar seeing as how it took no effort to just get the music score and have people play it instead of actually writing it sepcifically for this movie

  • 1:44 TO 1:56 is my favourite part.

  • Yes. It was an absolutely perfect soundtrack and should have won the oscar.

  • i like the slow part from it

  • love the track

  • Increible. Combinacion perfecta entre piano e instrumentos de cuerda.

  • It's wonderful...

  • This sound track should have won an Oscar. The Social Network getting the Oscar was a joke.

  • @sorcha425 No the Tron Legacy soundtrack should have won an Oscar

  • @TheReliableReview Tron legacy ost was a joke. inception or the king's speech should've won!

  • @sorcha425 I would have to disagree with that. I think both Alexandre Desplat and Trent Raznor deserved Oscars. Each of their compositions were excellent. The complexity behind Reznor's work may just seem like a bunch of mumbo-jumbo though to some people, which is understandable. However, I do personally find Alexandre's simplicity more intriguing. The Social Network soundtrack definitely reflects today's society and the same goes for The King's Speech and the time period then.

  • @goofygobber101 Okay, let's just say that personally I didn't care for The Social Network soundtrack. I usually judge a soundtrack on how it enhances the film, and the King's Speech is the better of the two. But I can respect your view :)

  • @sorcha425 An Oscar for Best Music is for original music for a film, not the soundtrack itself.

1/2 -- An Oscar for music is for music that makes the film whole. Music so good, that it's the best possible music for that film and no other music could fit.

While I love Alexandre Desplat (and I personally think he was robbed of the Oscar for Benjamin Button), his score for this film was so mediocre (strictly just my opinion) and I don't think it was the best music for this film.

  • @FilmmakerRyan you are completely right

  • @sorcha425 2/2

The score for the Social Network was new, fresh and it was the perfect music for that film. Without that music, the film wouldn't be what it was and wouldn't have felt whole without it. That's why I'm glad it won. It served its film better than any of the other nominated scores served their films.

    Just my opinion though.

  • @sorcha425 yeah i agree. there was nothing that very unique or super amazing in that score at all for Social Network, even if it was a good movie. King's Speech score is very unique and strikingly emotional and bittersweet. the social network's score sounded too dark and brooding.....

  • @sorcha425 Such beautiful music. Either this or Inception because that music was pretty damn good. But with those stupid beats of beep boop bopp. Are you serious? I could do that if I had time and a keyboard. It was so average. King Speech music actually took time to make. Social Network music is so over rated and irritating for the most part. Totally agree with you.

  • @sorcha425 Yeah. You should really check out "Forbidden Friendship" by John Powell for How To Train Your Dragon. A very moving piece of music too.

  • @sorcha425 The social network with its stupid story of facebook even being nominated for any Oscar is a joke.. I lost respect to the academy awards after this! Not even "Amelie" was nominated for best soundtrack in 2001!

  • It's raining outside and I am listening to this-what a d-e-l-i-g-h-t! :)

  • yay~~ thanks for posting this!! =)

  • one of my most favorite pieces of classic music ever....

  • Magnifica, a verla sin la menor duda!

  • thank you for uploading!
