It's 1am and I should be asleep but I'm listening to Anita relentlessly. The contrast between her Mick Harvey/Serge stuff and her own songs is startling. Her own comps are open wounds but beautiful .I hope she's found a comfortable place in life. She deserves it.
Just discovered her music and THIS voice , although I have heard her name long time ago. Friend just send me ''Sex O'clock'' album and i think I will listen to it all winter ..and longer. Wonderful ,soothing my tired soul , dreamy and ..so erotic! Mmmmmmm....
OMG you have to listen to her album before this one. I think it's called Dirty Pearl. But don't quote me. that's her nickname. Anyway, look it up, cause I loved her previous album more. it's totally haunting!!!!!!
I saw her live once in a theater piece with Alexander Hacke -she was shy but great -she has charisma that reaches out to the last seat in the room...It was worth a trip of two days to see her...
"Because I'm just not really interested in the experience of performing live and I guess I'm just not that kind of generous to want to tap dance and entertain and sing my little heart out for the troops."
exhibitionists often lack the ability to be as personal. Not playing live is no weakness in my opinion
She doesn't play live. Never. She was invited once on stage by Neubauten and was complitely frightened. Sung just one song out of three. Anita is too shy. Mick Harvey tried to persuade her to play just a few gigs supporting the "Sex O' Clock" release, but there was no way at all.

We are out here, but those men worthy of us are in the shadows just as we are...hard to find.
I'm hardly found...but then maybe you are just an empty a-n-i-m-us and not a worthy balanced dance of she-he magic.

Great video. The eyes of Mick Harvey makes something really good on this theme. "Sex O´Clock" is the best CD from Anita! Thank you for sharing

Here's a quote on her not playing live.

Anyone tell how Anita Lane would be like to see live?
