  • Nice! I wish I had a lift to work on my car!

  • Comment removed

  • we dont have anything off the shelf for a mountaineer, we would need it in our shop for about 7-10 days to custom fabricate headers, for more information about that, give us a call at 866-586-565 and speak with one of our sales reps and we can get you set up!

  • Do you guys have headers and exhaust system for a '06 Mercury Mountaineer? I own one that also has the mustang 4.6 3v V8.

  • touch that with your finger on dyno and your finger will be gone in no time.

  • damn, that map was nice...look at the afr.

  • how much do shory headers cost for the v6. cus im a student with a minimum wage job and i have an 07 mustang. but money is somewhat an issue

  • how much HP can I expect with JBA shorties with a supercharger, with high flow cats??

  • I love how they casually refer to the removal of stock manifold and install of headers. The omit to mention you have to jack up the motor, remove motor mounts, starter, steering shaft.... count on a long day

  • they should have done this on a base gt

  • half a day for the installation, are you serious???

  • haha mine staid 2 days in the shop lol

  • that xpipe is junk get a dr gas!

  • Sure...

  • Hey there, quick question.. If I used jacks to lift the car in my garage, would it be a very difficult install? Also, I heard something about needing o2 sensor extensions or something? Does the motor need to be lifted also?

  • its possible to do the install yourself, alot of people do it with not problem, its just difficult because the LT headers are a pain to move intoplace but with some good jackstands and such you should be able to do it, and it be a cool thing to do. as fars as the extensions, kooks supplys your with them

  • That's a pretty good gain for just headers, Xpipe, and air/fuel adjustment.

  • i would like to see what the kooks did without a tune first, to really see how $1000 dollars is spent.

  • im a little ignorant but still want to know lol what does the tune do

  • The guys had a programmer for that car and downloaded a few adjusted air/fuel numbers into the programmer then downloaded the changes into the computer system into the car so it will have the correct ratio of air/fuel. if they didnt do that the car wouldnt run as well and it would not have gained the power it gained. with that supercharger you dont even need thos damn headers just switch the pulley and adjust the air/fuel, the block can only hold 450-500 or so anyways if the tune is good

  • I got my headers and installed myself. I enjoyed it. One disappointment. In the middle of the install I realized that the tubes where full of metal grind. I wash them with water the best I could. When we pay 1300 I would expect that you atleast give us a product without garbage in it!!

  • did u do it on a lift, my friend has a 02 mustang 4.6V8, and he wants to install the pace setter headers and Xpipe, but since i dont have a lift its a royal pain, since the i read that the engine has to be jacked up to remove 2 of the engine mounts.

    any help?

  • No I did it on Jacks. it took abt 11 hours, by myself and occasional hand by the wife.... You do need to remove the mounts, and jack up the engine about an inch. You also need to remove the oil deep stick, starter, and steering column. The fitment is excellent. No issues whatsoever.

  • If your spending the money on Kooks, have the tune done.

  • It is not required, but to maximize the performance output I would reccomend one.

  • @Kookstv Informative video. Just wish we could have heard the distinctive "low rumble" you spoke of instead of music and a guy talking talking through the entire video. I'm sorry but music is for "music videos", not car videos.

  • Do I have to get it dyno tuned?

  • i have kooks on my 2valve and thier great... but without the tune the results would not have as good

  • i just got my car back with these headers, vt stage 2 cams, and an h-pipe and it is the best sounding mustang where i live

  • Glad to hear it!

  • I have a roushcharger on my 06 gt mustang if I put these headers on how will I retune the pcm for the air/fuel? or will I have to have a shop do it with a dyno?

  • I would reccomend getting it re dyno tuned. That would be the best option for you to go with.

    Thanks,

  • i want to install kooks headers and kooks x pipe with cats and with corsa axle back exhaust. will i be able to pass emissions test at a inspection station?

  • You should be able to install the headers and pass inspection. The only way it will not pass is if you are in California.

  • How about without the S/C??? Come on...

  • Hey, after you remove the stock manifold and put on the new headers, you have to put the cover back on too? Or is it optional? Becaue it will look better if not.
