He is so talented and so is the whole band of Stryper. We just saw them September 2011 and they rocked out! Sounded wonderful live. This one makes me cry and his wife did pass away from cancer, which was so very sad.

I saw Stryper last night (Sept. 18,2009) in NYC at the Fillmore. Michael Sweet sounded exactly like he did back in the 80's. They were fantastic. The opening band had MS's son Michael Sweet Jr. he made an announcement that his mother (Kyle) had passed away due to Ovarian Cancer and they had a fund raiser in her memory. So sad. I didn't know she passed away. I saw this youtube interview with Michael and Kyle back in 2007 and it seemed like she was getting better.Does anyone know when she passed?

After seeing Stryper back in 1991, and seeing the live videos from some of the 2007 concerts I can say Michael has not lost his touch. He still hits the high notes, God is with him! If Stryper tours in San Antonio TX, I am there!! Stryper still rocks, better than just about any new band today. Their message of God's love is powerful!

Part 2 since I was cut off...He was probably having a hard time hearing himself thru the monitors and was hearing himself more in his head voice which is why he backed away so much on the high notes...fear of distorting the mic. Just my 2.5 cents worth?

If you listen closely, he doesn't go flat on those notes. He pulls away as it is a common mic technique well trained singers use when they go for high notes. The only real problem is, he pulls away too far. This could be because of bad monitoring on the stage. You'll notice he kisses the mic quite a bit on the lower notes which most good singers know better than to do.
