First sand the surfaces with sandingpapers, start with rough and end with fine paper. now you shuold have a surface colour similar to led. dark grey.

note: the better you sand the surfaces the less work you have now.

after sanding polish the surface with a buffing wheel and polish(NOT carpolish. there´s special polish for this kind of job).
