  • do they take anyone or do you need high IQ?

  • I am an E-5 In the U.S Army Mos 31B, I am currently 22 years old but will turn 23 this upcoming August. I was an AP A high school student with plenty of extracurricular activities such as NHS, Student Council, Track and Field, Soccer, Band, Drama, and pretty much any other club in school. I graduated 10% with a 94.7 GPA in my graduating class. My question, is there a chance for me to get some type of waiver in order for me to get accepted at West Point?!

  • 3 people are terrorists!

  • I just want to play football for westpoint

  • Personally, I don't want to go to a service academy, I can go to ROTC for the Army at any school that offers it and enter the Army as a Second Lt. as well, so basically it is just a thing of honor to attend and graduate from a service academy.

  • my god i want to go to west point so bad.

  • Seems like a lot to go through just to get your ass blown to smithereens by an IED in some 3rd world shithhole for a greedy Wall Street fatass with a house in the Hamptons.

  • @TheChuck624 Amen to that.

  • I report in 9 days

  • im fucking scared i report june 26

  • WEST POINT INFORMATION GROUP ON FACEBOOK!

  • Hmm West Point is not only about academics and athletics.. there is much more to the acceptance process-- the qualities they look for.. those who figure that out what they are, are those who get in.

  • I Love USMA! I can't wait to go in '15(: 4 more years babee 4 more:D working extra hard for this studing for all my test making it to honor roll just to get in this hope I pass basic training though o_O lmfao

  • gosh i hope i can get accepted

  • I'm seriously working my butt off to go to this academy... 2 more years till I get my citizenship! Love this country!

  • @tforeignguy hey i live in the US wanting to join west point but i am not a citizen i am a permanent resident holder and i am 25 can i apply to west point?

    thanks

  • @rashidul227 Hey man, I have the exact same situation, but the oldest age one can join with is 23. Sorry to be the one to tell you that. :/ There are other military institutes you can join, like VMI, citadel, and you can even do ROTC in college, the outcome will be the same: an officer in the Army. You should really look into it-- dont lose hope man!

  • @tforeignguy the thing is it takes some time to get a citizenship since I am muslim and all the checking its understandable since they are being cautious. As long as I have lived here i loved America and wouldn't want to be anywhere else. how old are you? if u dont mind me asking

  • @rashidul227 Sorry i took so long to respond. i was away. They are no more cautious if a muslim applies or if a christian, or if a bhuddist. It would be unconstitutional-- they are cautious over all.. if you are still unsure, then just dont mention that you are a muslim... The only problem here is your age man(for west poing). I am 17 years old

  • @rashidul227 well i am 19 turning 20 this july but i need 5 years residence for a green card so 20 + 5 years residence makes me 25 :( i applied at VMI, virginia tech, tamu, citadel and north georgia

  • @tforeignguy I wish you the best of luck, I hope you have good congressmen! My son is working his butt off for the naval academy!

  • The training consist of removing people's objections to authority in order to produce obedient troops. Later you can call up for an attack on another nation and instruct your military to call it "kinetic action" happens to work.

  • Yes ma'am, sir ma'am...

  • Army Swimming and Diving needs your support....Go to "Army Swimming and Diving" facebook page and add it to your liked pages....GO ARMY BEAT NAVY....post this to other videos to gain more support...thanks

  • it feels like drill comp in nationals

  • The little scum bag did look like a woman yes!

  • this is like watching those students in JROTC in High school who think they are all that and u just want to laugh in their face. what a joke.

  • @frederich822000 So how is ____ State University working out for you?

  • hahahaha that was hilarious..."do i look like a female" haha...that guy was about ro burset out in laughetr u can tell.

  • There were far worse days for us that R Day. Ask around.

  • The guy on the left at 00:51 had ten receptions for 121 yards.

The next day, he was playing for Navy.

No one ever figured this out, how it could be.

  • West Point is a place where you earn respect.

It is not given to you.

They are very hard on you at first because they have to weed out the ones who can't hack it from the ones who will make it.

    George Vreeland Hill

  • wth is this shit. they need to be trained with marine DI's. i mean if a recruit referred to a DI as mam by accident, that recruit will get his ass beat uppp

  • wait wtf this is dumb

  • DO I LOOK LIKE A FEMALE!!

The guy's face is like..uhhh..yeah? LOL

  • Seems like yesterday, the summer of 1986........

  • i have no idea how my sister made it through all of this.

  • A young man can not play the ,,Football stuff. A 122 or a bullet may mess up

    your weekend.

    Best to you,

    Rich

  • GO AIR FORCE!

  • rotc is better.

  • this is military training and one of the top educations put together that you could ever get. imagine going through bct, ait, and college all in 1. most people have a hard enough time just dedicating themselves to a 2 year college degree without dropping out. now put the stresses of the military training and increase the education intensity by 10 and thats what you get at officer schools and places like west point. this isnt just any old bct or any crappy community college

  • what a bunch of wusses. non-hackers that couldn't cut the Corps.

  • Excellent Barber shop

  • protractorandcompass. com

  • Beast Barracks has changed since the old days and not for the best. The Old Army, that made Men!

  • Jaypats, none of your bullsh*t matters. Just tell me do all the VMI and Citadel students go to war or are they playing soldier for a while? Everyone from my son's class of 2004 at West Point went to war and some didn't come back.

  • To all you people saying West Point is a joke, please... of course it's way harder than that, you think they are going to show what really happens on the web, or film everything? Every place is amazing in drill, education, physical fitness, Annapolis, The Citadel, USAFA, and much more. Bless the men and women serving our country, and future cadets in being our future leaders.

  • @KevinTheKraut nice comment

  • @KevinTheKraut by no way is west point a joke, I knew this really smart kid that got into west point and he had to drop out....the culture shock, the dicipline etc

  • I am very good friends with all three of the cadets you see getting their heads shaved at 40 seconds. It is hard to believe that these two years have gone by so quickly.

To anyone joining us on R-Day this year: We, the members of the Class of 2012, are very excited you, the class of 2014, are coming, and we will offer our "motivation" to the fullest extent haha... good luck... remember, this too shall pass. It won't be easy, but it is worth it.

  • @PartyFunky13 Bitter Cows!

  • I'm "underwhelmed" at the maturity of many of the posts. Perhaps it's indicative of the character, as well.

  • This looks like some kind of girls club camp. WOW! Parents bringing them on the first day. Different from the West Point I remember in the 60s

  • yea its becasue your a bunch a book faggots. You know nothing about pain and struggle. Your a bunch a panzy bitches. The females at VMI are tougher than ur guys. Don't feel special that people say your school is good becasue they have no idea what they are talking about. YOU ALL SUCK!!!!

  • haha West Point. what a joke. the first day is apparently their hardest?!?. That was nothing compared to VMI or the Citadel

  • @JayPats12 its scaled down

  • fucking cadets think they're drill sergeants. Biggest bullshit I've seen so far.

  • GO NAVY

  • @XxSzpiegxX hey good to hear man. I'll be in week 1 too. i'll see you there? not that we'll know

  • @XxSzpiegxX give it time. no worries. I got a confirmation letter pretty soon after I sent in the forms

  • @megamaster911 hmmm i still havent gotten mine =[

  • hey i hope you get it soon.

and hopefully i'll see you there?

  • @megamaster911 got confirmed for week 1

  • i dont get the ranks there

  • @brdrhppr

hey i'm going week 1 what week are you going?

  • @megamaster911 i asked for week one but i didnt get anything to confirm which one ill be in...

  • Hey I am going into the Summer Leaders Seminar this upcoming May, and could anyone tell me how it is?

  • Its a pretty cool taste of what west point is like. It helps a lot with seeing if you might like it there or not. It sure helped me

  • @angryraidersfan did you get into the actual school? I would really like to get in...

  • Yes i did get an appointment, and I'll be leaving this June. That's another cool thing about SLS they open your full candidate portal a bit earlier than every one elses

  • send me a message to remind me and I'll let you know.

  • @XxSzpiegxX me too! what week are you going?

  • @brdrhppr i asked for week 1...did you get any confirmation letter or anything?

  • @XxSzpiegxX i'm going to ask for week 1 also, but i haven't returned my envelope yet so i still have to get some papers signed.

maybe i'll see you there then!

  • @brdrhppr well i hope to see you there =]

  • Oh boy, I have to do this, this summer, except, as a cadre member doing all of the yelling. Poor new cadets.

  • @morningtruth be nice to me...

  • I'll try....

  • boy scouts?

  • "...that I will merely _support_ the Constitution of the USA but bare my true allegiance to the national government..." ...wtf?! That explains a lot.

  • learn whats said before you critique

  • I always do. If you believe otherwise, explain why.

  • i hope you all realize that what they do during R-day is not how the rest of Beast goes. We know the cameras are on us so the hard part starts once all the media's gone.

  • Comment removed

  • well said kedt2012 the academies aint shit compared to vmi or el cid

  • I'm sure they all would. Same kind of kids go to West Point as the kids in VMI and the Citadel.

  • sounds someone's jealous!

  • @kedt2012 Dude, relax. Each academy has its challenges and differences. Perhaps one academy is tougher physically and the other is tougher in academics. However, at the end of the four years we are all the same.

  • she those little kids are pissing they pants LMAO!!!!! They shoulda went to FT Benning back in 03 Sand Hill, Them Drill SGTs still beat people.

  • ENLISTED SOLDIERS FOR LIFE!!!!!!! haha

  • This was my favourite educational/life experience ever attending USMA at westpoint.

  • "recption day"? i'll bet it was not YOUR idea of any recption !

  • This is the Top College in America right now. Remember that.

  • @timefornightnight whatever...

  • @timefornightnight Why is it the "Top College" in America right now? Because of what we just saw? It might be competitive, but there are other superb universities in our country from which Officer candidates come.

  • @khalsasikh Reception day? What kind of a weenie name is that? The name makes me picture bunnies and rainbows. You know what a better name would be... I-day.

  • @khalsasikh America's "top college" is a highly subjective topic. While Harvard and Yale are almost always up there due to their reputation, every college ranking sources has a completely different ranking method, yielding completely different results.

  • i got accepted there but didnt go cuz i live in cali

  • Getting into any of the service academies is just as hard as getting in an Ivy League school. Having a service academy degree or an Ivy League degree looks extremely well on a resume.

  • this is the hardest day for plebes? Wow...

I thought West Point was supposed to be harder than VMI.

  • "We're Navy, we beat you every year Army."

    "Uhh, army of one, hooah."

"Last year, We beat you by almost thirty points, and how do you even play football with an army of one? Where are all the other guys, janitors?"

"Uhh, Rangers Lead the Way, Hooah."

    Uhuh.

    GO NAVY!!!! BEAT ARMY!!

  • Ok seaman, you beat us at football and thats it...

  • We watch your football, you watch our war.

  • @BXC747 Nice nice.

  • if you want to go in the Navy this is the way to do it I'm glad I have seacadet experince in drill and things like that before I go though

  • the group of ladies can not take a day in the Brazilian army

  • you can't even spell 'Brazilian.'

  • West Point . Top College In America right now on the Forbes list.

  • Yes, and Harvard got fifth place. GO ARMY!

  • That's why I did ROTC. Not a fan of some dude/chick a year older than me talking to me like I'm a little nut sack, tradition or not.

  • whats the difference? Like the benefits

  • No, you learn just as much, but you don't have to worry about hazing or any of the bs associated with an institution like West Point. At the end, you still get the same 2nd Lieutenant bars the West Point cadet receives. To each his own, though. I'm an officer now and I enjoyed my experience, but I'm sure someone from West Point had an equally enjoyable experience...

  • Yeah but this is for people who want to be commissioned as a officer in the active army not reserve.

  • The majority of ROTC cadets commission as active duty Army Officers. I went through ROTC and I'm an active duty Officer.

  • @brainsOFoperation I Apoligize I must be misinformed. The ATM ROTC apparently have to compete for active slots after commisioning.

  • Your a faggot if you cant handle the hazzing and have no place in the army, sorry

  • That's "You're," genius. Looks like a GED is in "your" future. XD

  • Comment removed

  • You replied to my comment, so it was taken as such. Glad I could help, though.

  • lol, You spelled "you're" wrong, moron. If you can't handle hazzing you have no place in the army? Get a fucking clue.

  • wow is this how west point receive their new cadet battalion? this is a walk in the park. see the Philippine military academy on the reception of the plebes. the lowest mammal in the cadet corps. in the philippine military academy plebes fear the 3rdclassmen. they tremble at the sight of the secondclassmen and all that is happening inside the cadet corps are under the srcutinizing eyes of the firstclassmen. see for yourself watch philippine military academy on video.

  • Marines rock. These guys suck.

  • did you watch this video just to say that?

  • A lot of famous marines are west pointers, including medal of honor winner Frank Stanley Reasoner. Think first, then comment. They teach that in the Marines right?

  • That's absurd. All of our marines come from OCS, NROTC, PLC, and USNA. A few come through the cracks from USMA, but that is very very rare. We only had one guy from USMA commission as a marine this year.

  • Dude, your a moron, alot of marines come from here too

  • im a 15 year old and i plan to go to West Point, ive wanted to go since i was 12 but i wanted to join the army as infantry since i was 5,both my parents were in the army and my mom's family were practically all in the army. I have a current gpa of about 3.8-3.9 and i participate in football and i plan to join clubs. ive researched this for quite a while and West Point is free because when you attend you join the army anyway so thats why you dont pay you just have to meet the requirements.

    sorry.

  • Apply there and also ROTC if you really want to become a commissioned officer.

  • I am also 15, and I am almost a Eagle Scout in the Boy scouts of America, and have a GPA of 3.3. It is also a dream of mine to attend West Point. I plan to join clubs, and do anything I can to get in.

Cadets are actually payed to attend here. I was wondering if you could tell me what academic requirements there are? I need some info and thought that you may have it. Thanks

  • dude go to norwich university

  • The best thing you can do is raise your GPA and get good scores on your SAT and ACT. Do sports at your highschool and do lots of stuff for your community. Basically the more stuff you can put on your resume the better.

  • If you feel like you want to go, read The Long Gray Line before you do. It describes Beast. You want to know about Beast. Bchette, Norwich U is a nice place, but they hate the rooks, I know two guys that went, one's still there the other's active duty AF and he said his rookdom would be worse than BCT...which says something lol

  • I've seen good academy grads and bad ones when it comes to the military. All that training don't amount to a hill of beans in combat if the individual just isn't cut out for combat. Those classroom tactics don't always work in the field.

    A Nam Vet

  • I don't think I could ever go through a military academy. I have a few friends in ROTC and they seem to be having the times of their lives mainly because they can have a social life along with their military duties.

The military academies are definitely only for those who love the military.

  • USMA plebe's perspective on this: even those who really love the military don't enjoy the stuff that plebes have to do. we do a lot of seemingly pointless stuff. but beyond that, people who say "man, four years of that, i could never do it" are off-base, because it's only one year of that. you're only dirt for one year...

  • thats nothing compared to basic as far as the yelling goes

  • If you call be smart spoiled.

  • The difference is, this will last for four years.

  • haa yeah i was about to say the same thing. this video sorta sugar coats it a bit :)

  • HA my buddy called a mam sir at the afa our first week, he had to write her and her mother a letter explaining why he called her sir. FAIL

  • haha this year during basic here at USMA i had a squadmate who was horrible about muzzle awareness with her M4. she flagged so many people over the course of marksmanship training...once, i'm told, the safe was even off. she wrote a lot of letters to mothers explaining why she accidentally shot their sons. didn't get mailed, obviously...

  • @apocalypse1298 pretty harsh may i "say" sir mam

  • "Did you just call me a "Ma'am"? Do I look like a female?!"

Haha, you could just see that new cadet kick himself for that slip up.

  • Guys I wanted to go to the NewYork Military Academy highschool which is connected with west point it costs 35,000 plus books and uniforms and activities per year so 50,000 a year for 4 years of highschool wtf how expensive can u make in fckin 160,000 after 4years

  • Comment removed

  • Uhhhm, how about you read his post, then my post again, and see if you understand this time?

  • big pyoopy my dad works at west point and he says cadets get paid to go there.

  • New cadet ----------- reporting to the cadet in the red sash for the first time as ordered sir!

  • Meant 'any' academy. Also, I am not sure about the Citadel or VMI's system. However, I am confident they are similar if not identical in having "Cows" or "Firsties" teach much of the drill and physical activity programs. Under close supervision of course from the actual officer in charge of said department.

  • fackel im sturm

  • dude, scarlato's a man. or at least used to be. something's not quite right about her.

  • why dont you try bracing

  • exposing the secrets of Cadet Basic Training. (still in progress)

  • wtf

  • ich habe keine nerven für diesen scheiss ich führe schon zuhause ein krieg "heimatfront"ich muss durchhalten oder mich erniedriegen lassen

  • Ja!

  • the long gray line is the best of the best.

  • West Point is not alone in having a Corps of Cadets, in having a Long Gray Line- VMI and The Citadel, those magnificent Southern military colleges, are there as well and in no way should be overlooked.

I have the utmost respect for the cadets of West Point, VMI, and The Citadel, and in about three years I'll be a cadet at VMI. I look forward to being able to say "I wear the ring" very much.

  • ohhh, Joseph, not what all the frantic moms at home want to hear:)

  • Well its just for a plebe that first year can get pretty tedious and pretty quick. Its just such a transition. From having your own free will to them taking it from you. Then with each passing year you get more and more freedom. You son/daughter will do just fine. They only accept those that can make it. If someone doesnt make it its not West Point's fault the kid had it in them. Its just a sign it wasnt right for that particular cadet.

  • I understand completely, and I think my son did, too. Just the vision that it was worse than being in Iraq and shot was pretty dramatic:)

  • I only meant it in the sense that even though you can get seriously hurt in Iraq at least you know what you have to do. Other than having prior military experience when I first got to USMA I didnt have a clue. All these people telling you rules, taking away some of your stuff from home and just basically making you feel helpless was the worst. Overall it is a good experience but at the time you feel like your gonna go crazy there.

  • Plebe year is the worst no doubt. The Firsties treat you like shit and pretty much anybody and everybody can tell you what to do. You rarely get to leave. God it sucks. I'd have to say Iraq was better than my first year there. Even though I got shot in the leg!

  • Joseph, thank you so much for serving. Your commitment speaks volumes and I am thankful that prior enlisted men and women are in the classrooms along with our other Plebes. Your field experience is invaluable to these students and they will gain much from your input. I caught a glimpse of my own son in this video. Are you at USMA now?

  • oops, I made an assumption there... did you graduate and then go to Iraq, or enlist then go to USMA?

  • Actually when I was 17 I enlisted in the South Carolina Army National Guard. That way between my junior and senior years in highschool I could do basic and get totally prepared for USMA. Plus being in a branch of service really helps in getting accepted. Not just because you have a lot of experience but also you dont need the congressional nomination for the application process. All I needed was a recommendation from my company commander.

  • If you're from South Carolina, why didn't you go to The Citadel? It's just as good as West Point if you ask me, as is VMI, and in your case The Citadel is right there in your home state.
