Like a lot! Adjust those fenders down closer to the tire. It just looks much better that way. You can cut off the extra length of the fender stays when you get it right. Check out the Rivendell fender mounting instructions somewhere here on youtube.
how is the leather tape holding up in the rain? Love the look and feel, but I have a suspicion it would fall apart after a few good soakings. I KNOW it would start smelling funky. Anyway, at least it's not stretched like the saddle. (I still have a brooks, but it gets the plastic treatment in the rain) Do you treat the handlebar tape at all?
The leather tape has held up beautifully and has developed a nice looking patina after a lot of soaking rains and a winter filled with many freeze/thaws. I recently reversed the tape, for the first time, so that I could achieve an even wear. I must say that I was nervous about how well it would hold up on the re-wrap after all of the beatings it has put up with. It was still in perfect shape and I pulled it just as tight -- maybe even tighter -- as I did on the first wrap.
Why do rude? The guy likes wood, brass and Brooks. Long Haul Truckers are individual's bikes, therefore each in themselves are unique. Besides which my wife loves this bike and has asked me to build one similar. Thanks for showing this video.
Obviously, you like your bike. I like bikes too, but this makes you look like a loser who cares about nothing else. Just like a geek with a tricked out Acura that has fancy spoiler, usless muffler, and the rest of the mumbo jumbo.

That wood you mentioned..."Jabota" is called Jatoba, and is used extensively in yacht interiors. It's commonly called "Brazilian cherry" in the woodworking industry. Nice bike. Happy riding.
Yes I eventually got the Surly LHT in Black with 26 ''Inch Wheel's on the 24thNovember. I am delighted with it,it goes very Smooth and no Twitching of the Handlebars it holds the course straight and true. I just did not like the Stock Saddle WTB and got a Brook's Flyer Saddle in Honey Brown Leather which is a B17 with Springs. I have a Tortec Carrier on the Rear which is good for 35 kilo Panniers and SKS Mudguards in Silver. It cost € 1,200 Euro in Dublin Complete without Mudguards or Carrier.
which only costs around $1700.00 AUD. I am impressed that the guys @ Surly have gone 25" in the bigger sized frames though but I actually prefer the ride of 700c wheels to be honest and ? I THOROUGHLY RECOMMEND Phil Wood Touring Hubs. Simply a cut above anything else out there!
I dunno. I just find that here in Australia, the LHT is just too expensive @ $2250.00 for a pretty basic set up. I ended up stumbling across a fully speced Vivente World Randonneur with but 200 kilometres on it on eBay for $800.00 {$2200.00 brand new}.I could then splash out on some Velocity Dyad rims with some Phil Wood Touring Hubs. 40 hole front.48 hole rear. Also went to flat bar trigger shifts and some quality bar ends.As good a bike as a LHT in my opinion.Even off the shelf standard,
I have just Ordered a LHT last week, I would have preferred it in Green but they have only Blue and Black according to the Surly Site. So I did not like the Blue and am getting the Black in 26 Inch Wheels in 58cmsize. I will probably get a Brooks Saddle if the Stock Saddle does not work out. It is a nice Bike you have there although I do not like the Colour much.
Don't worry about the "seat" thing. Saddle/seat it's really not that big of a deal. but that is a really nice bike. I can't wait to get my LHT with tricked out gear. I'll be doing a lot of biker iding with my dog in a doggytrailer in the back.
Wow, nice looking bike. It won't look that nice after you've taken it through its paces, but still much nicer looking than my LHT.

Very Very beautiful set up, would you mind me asking what kind of fenders those are?
I'd love to put them on my 2009 Olive green Long Haul.
I've got such a fondness for them.
and by the way, the turn things are called turn buckles!
you were quite close!
So very nice, very clean! Take care of her =]
