All Canberra people who complain about the cold should come to a hot part of India in June or July just once (Remember it's hot in June and July in the northern hemisphere). The winters in Canberra seem to be milder than they used to be. I moved back to Canberra 7 years ago, and apart from the few real FYAO days/nights the winters do seem to be less harsh... ...there've been some rotten summers though :P

It takes about 5-8 years to climatize to the weather, but once you do, you actually look forward to the the gob smacking cold around March, even if it is -6'c and snowing. Fk, that's what in-slab heating was invented.

Just to let you know 'reaperman2004' and 'hoses77' I live in Australia's coldest state (However I'm not saying it's the coldest place to live). On an average day here in winter it's 5c on a cold day it's anywhere from -5 to -10... Australia does get cold, perhaps not up close near the equator, but down south near Antarctica it's just as cold as Scotland, England, and Ireland.
