You may get away with having the hair heat treated, if that doesn't work get a rehair done by a good bowmaker.

oh yeah, violin bow horror stories. I was a string instrument repairman in a music shop that did a big rental business to the local public schools. You just would not believe the things the kids did to the bows....and of course the parents always blamed "us" for the problem
