@honchoryanc Hey mate, sorry yours died! You should get a hold of Corsairs warranty department and set up an RMA they are good about honoring the warranty and will send you a brand new one as replacement!
@Psylacus I don't know what they were doing but they stopped working on all my computers in rage I plugged them in and out a good 10 times then they started working again fyi.I stand corrected. I'm still worried that they did that new.
@Psylacus Thanks for the review. So these headphones support 7.1, 5.1, and stereo? Or what? I would use them for music and gaming - want my music to sound awesome and to be immersed in whatever game I'm playing; you think these would suit my needs? Any others your recommend over these?
Honestly if you have a big head like I do (large), do not buy Corsair. I've tried both their HS1 and Vengence 1500... Love them both but WOW... they give you a hell of a headache. Feels like your head is stuck in a vice.
no cd came/comes with this headset. ok to get it down from net. it feels like a good headphone.
kight like bluray and red blinking on mute. hope to test som e games who use 7.1 5.1 sound. hope it support thx sound too. maybe next 1600 version of these lovely sound predator. bass sound on youtube. but better with external avr 900 .7.2 better sound. yep but the nabo can get very annoed. i will ceep to 7.1 when its night outside. alone in the dark or alien game. sounds good.
I signed in just to say that this is an awesome review. Personal yet professional and through yet not overloaded with tech specs that are more for "oohs and ahs" than actual benefits.
Certain specs you left out would have been good for a little extra such as impedance and range for mic and headset. Ive subscribed and i think if you keep up these great reviews with a personal feeling behind it yet still professional i think you could be the next 3dGameMan.
Hi Psylacus. i just got this headset for christmas and as i've used the i've noticed that they make quite a bit of crackling and i'm not even using them with very high volume.
i was wondering if you had the same problem or if you know how to fix it?
(or is mine defective?)
i was also wondering if i should trade these back in and get the 1300's since they are analog?
I got these headsets for Christmas and the sound is great, but the comfort is just terrible. No matter how I adjust them I get either pain in the head or around my ears. They're just too tight. I've had them around a box just to make them less tight but still they are. I have neither a large or a small head.
@RandyVanSchon I've had these headsets for some weeks now and I must say that the comfort isn't that bad at all anymore. They were really tight on the head at first, which either made my head hurt or the area around my ears, depending on how I had adjusted them.
A tip from me is to have these headsets around something, like a PS3 box, when you're not using them that is. That will make them less tight much faster. Though it might take like 1.5-2 weeks.
@SnickerSGames Carcarias is much more comfortable but these have nicer audio with 7.1 surround sound Carcarias doesn't have surround sound
My carcarias broke in a week so i can't really recommend them due to personal experience but I'm sure they work fine for a lot of people
I am currently using these and i just got them but as of right now they are hurting my ears because the inside is hard and touches your ears unlike the razer which goes back to comfort.
@SnickerSGames Probably not it doesn't actually hurt you just have to give it time to mold onto your head and you should be fine. I think I was the only one who complained about the comfort.Razer ones are still by far more comfortable though, even if these didn't hurt my ears
@Catamount1412 I would say so but not by much, the 7.1 virtual surround sound isn't actually as noticeable as you would think it is but still a good headset overall.
Really good review, I was between this and the Creative Sound Blaster Tactic Sigma and ultimately decided to buy this headset. I owned one of the first generation Corsair headsets and had it for a while until the headband broke somewhat randomly, although it was a good headset I was put off the idea of buying another Corsair headset as the last broke randomly but I think this video along with written reviews convinced me I should buy it.
@Crainey92 I'd also like to add that the first generation headsets also had a very long cable which I enjoyed very much, it allows you to get up and walk across the room to open a window or close a door without having to take your headset off which is always a plus in my books.
@Crainey92 If a Corsair product fails then it's bad luck mate. Corsair's products are by no means bad. You had a 2 year limited warrenty on your headset so if it breaks you can get a new one for free
@Psylacus Just thought I'd follow up and say I got the Corsair set. Amazing sound and great mic, couldn't be happier!
The headset does feel like it sits oddly on my head though, like maybe I'm wearing it wrong. Waiting for it to get broke in and hopefully get more comfortable.
Anyways, thanks again for the review. Definitely helped me decide. :)
I have these headsets they came today, I would like more bass just need to no the software at 5:10. They are great Headsets nice and clear Would recommend these : D.
@Zanazuah Thanks so much for the clear response. I've been looking for a while for a good headset. I actually ordered these yesterday so I can test them out.
Great review! I actually was deciding between these and the Creative Tactic 3D Sigma. I ended up buying the Sigma last night, lucky for me I haven't opened them yet. I was pulling up reviews and looks like the Sigma had a bunch of negative reviews. I read your written review on Amazon and saw this video. I'm going to return the Sigma for the Corsair 1500. I have the H60 CPU cooler and the TX750 PSU might as well get these. Thanks for taking your time to post these reviews!
Quick question: I'm torn between the Razer Megalodon and the Corsair 1500. I assume that you have tested both of them -- which one do you feel is better and why?
Ok so what do you use then? I'm Not the pickiest or someone that spends all my time gaming but like I said wireless would be cool but would you go with the 1500's or somethin else?
But why are you sending back the 1500's? Can you explain a little more as to why the bass is night and day and why you prefer to stick with your g930's even though its only a 40mm drivers instead of the 1500's 50mm's?
@reb4169 No matter what I did I couldn't get the g930's to produce a decent amount of bass without rattling. I have a creative Xfi champion - for reference.
IM having a really hard time deciding on these or the logitecs g930's what you recommend? wireless would be nice but i dont really care which would be the better sound and comfort quality?
@reb4169 My 1500's arrived today, and it's looking like I'm going to send them back tomorrow and stick with my G930s. The bass difference is night and day. Check my thread on the corsair audio forum for more info.
@reb4169 Ive had the G35 for 7 months or so, before it broke, guess 930 is just the wireless version of 35. great headset only downside is a bit weak construction. Dont think u get as good sound with a wireless as a wired also :)
When you're wearing the headset, does it cancel out noise or can you still hear things around you? I'm about to have a baby and i want to be able to play games, but I still want to be able to hear what's going on around me. Thanks!
@ingenious138 It cancels out a lot of noise almost to the point you cant hear anything with game sounds on. You are better off getting some open eared cans.
@startsem Actually they are comfortable even with a hat. I have worn them with and without. They are very soft and cushy pads and yes your whole ear fits inside even with a hat... depending on how big your ears are. Hope this helps.
After reading a few more reviews (which came out top) I have ordered them. WIll be here in a couple of days, my old SH 150's are falling apart, these should be great for gaming....
@AjandKris I see often questions about the bass and to make it clear the bass is good. if you enjoy bass to get the real kick to your brain the dolby setting along with the Music+Bass preset is for you. I would also recommend to try out the 7.1 Shifter with the Music+Bass preset. Bypass is Stereo, Dolby is 5.1 and 7.1-Shifter is 7.1 so you need to choose the right speaker setup in windows configuration everytime you switch the settings.
I have one of these. Unfortunately I can't hear you because of a weird driver conflict on my computer causing my headset to stop working after just a couple seconds of being plugged in!
hi, did the 1500 come with the leatherette ear pads (extra) in the box---i noticed that the 1300 came with leatherette ear pads but no velour type pads, i wondered if the 1500 came with both...i know their replaceable, but ionnu where to purchase either pads---thanks!
@easy2mind Hey mate, I got mine from them so I am not really certain if they were suppose to or not. Mine didn't but honestly they are pretty comfortable anyway... the squeeze pretty tight but they didn't both me. I assume Corsair will probably make them availble.
Great video man! I'm working on a review of the Vengeance 1300s right now and so far I really like them. You're spot on about the similarity to the Sennheisers. Thats exactly what I thought when I heard them the first time. Very flat sound signature out of the box for a gaming headset.
@TheFaithful55555 hey mate, as for settings if you are a male, I would turn up the high endsd a notch or so... not to much or things get tin-y sounding. If you like bas turn your bass up a little. Generally you wanta smooth curve so turn the sliders closest to the ones that you have turn up half of the amount of the ones you moved. Hard to explain.
thanks for the fast answer, but the problem is not that uncommon, just did a google search.
maybe its not because of the headset itself, but I havent had this problem with my last ones.
anyway, nice review by the way, checked it out before I went to buy it. I especially like that its very comfortable, even for very long gaming sessions
@swires86 Thats probably cuz ure soundcard jack has (like mine) broke for some reason. Im going to by a new, but in the meantime, I'm adjusting the input cable to the jack in & out a little bit until I hear nice on both ears. Might not be same problem ofc... but u can give it a try.
Thanks for the review, very informative, but seriously...software suit? it's a suite (pronounced sweet) not a suit. Sorry, grammar nazi on patrol...can't help it.
@Psylacus Also, btw I broke my Logitech G35 last night, if you had a budget of <$200 what headset would you pick up? This headset is strictly for gaming. Good lookin' out.
@c0chese80 Aye, ok well i am more of a headphones and mic stand kinda guy - as you can see in some of my video's I run an AKG C414. However, for outings to lan events for the price te Vengeance 1500 is hard to beat. I am trying to get my hands on a CM Sirus (which sounded good as well for the brief bit I got to check it out). Asus also has a new set and steelseries is sending me their set as well. I know this really doesn't lay it down with which one to choose.
please don't misinform the world with false accusations. 40mm and less headphones can have more bass than 52mm's. just like a 8" sub woofer can have more bass than a 15", as a matter of fact the worlds bassist headphones are only 45mm. excursion is what makes more bass, "how much the driver/woofer moves to make low frequency sounds".
@floridabowhunter true but generally a larger driver generally means more base tolerance. However, material such as construction and magnet power also help... but that would be far outside of most people's budgets for headphones.
@Psylacus well you can get a pair of beyer dt 770's for around 200 which will sound better and have more bass than 95% of headphones and speakers alike.. you will need a proper amp though, a 100 dollar denon, sony, yamaha, etc a/v receiver is perfect. it is allot, but i guarantee that no one has ever regret it lol and that setup would have better positional audio than any gaming headphone ever made most likely.
@floridabowhunter Agree i generally use a nice pair of headphones and my AKG C414 - However these headpones are only 80-90 dollars. Gaming audio still has a long way to go before it catches up to a really nice audio solution. However, price wise I guess both you and I have sunk some serious cash... I don't regret it though ;)
@Psylacus haha yep, ive spent well over a 1000 so far on finding my audio nirvana. dt 770's and ath ad900's are my favorites. and amps are useless when you have a 24bit/192hz 7.1 denon receiver, if you run a hdmi to a gaming pc or ps3 you can have lossless 7.1 lpcm and it puts it through the headphones by converting it to stereo. now when i hear my surround sound or car speakers i cringe lol.
@floridabowhunter haha, ya. Audio is extremely important for me, but budget sometimes restricts. However, I enjoy all sorts of music including classical music so a great set up for sound makes all the diffrence. BTW, added a little disclaimer to the video about drivers. Thanks, your first commen was kinda harsh but I do thank you for the reminding me to clarify!
Pretty good review. Unfortunately I didn't hear much talk about the actual quality of the sound, how well the built in sound card handles positional audio, etc. Is it on par or better than the Corsair HS1's?
@Psylacus Have you ever used any steelseries headset? I'm in the market for a new headset and I'm debating whether to get the Corsair 1500 or a SteelSeries. How's the sound on the 1500's on FPS games? Like the 7.1 virtual surround and whatnot.
I got a G35 headset, but want a new one, do you think this could be a good headset to replace the G35? i don't need better quality, but about the same, and i think Corsair vengance 1500 looks awesome.
@nimrodms Headset has good bass, so tweak ur equalizer to something more similar in my video. Little more treble little more bass. Left the midrange where its at.
nice review, but just a suggestion for unboxing, it might be better to start filming when you just received it, people might want to see the packaging and what comes with it inside the box when its brand new.
@Fenom60 Aye, true just had to do some video editing since there was work being done around my house. I was so excited to use it I unboxed it first :)
oh wow you just posted this review, where did you buy your set from? I see they're sold out on amazon.. Could you comment on how much room your ears have when u wear the headset?
@PlanetDip Hey, i didn't buy them they were given to me by Corsair to review. I reviews lots of random thing. As far as room i would say they are fairly large and rest more on my skull than my ears!
@Psylacus hey is there anyway you can tell me how to get into testing game gear, ive always wanted to try it out. any info would be great. btw liked and fav'd thanks =D
@zeke247 Hey, basically I spent lots of money buying stuff to review, and event hen my channel is very small and mostly has to do with my random connections by attending tech tradeshows. Honestly it takes a lot of products, and time to produce the video's and go from there. I hardly make anything from this, I just enjoy doing it. Obviously people who click my links support me, but its a labor of love.
@Psylacus i also noticed the description you wrote for this video is identical to the one on newegg's review, was it you copying him or him copying you, or just you both times?
@zeke247 Ya, its me, I love to write reviews and I post themt o Amazon, buy.com, newegg and other fine retailers. Nothing bothers me more when buying on the internet blind. When someone doens't take the time to write about the product. So whenever I buy something I write on it!
Hey bud, just wanted to give you a thumbs up and tell you thank you for the review! Ive been doing some research on the top gaming headsets (Anticipating BF3!!! Alpha and Beta was/is awesome... really enjoying it!) As for what headset to choose... I am split between the following. Corsair Vengeance 1500, Logitech G35 and Creative Tactic 3D Sigma. I am leaning more towards this new Corsair Headset though. Looks to be the best thing around... great quality for the price. Thanks again...
Nice! Thanks a bunch,i was searching the web looking for reviews on the 1500 and i stumbled to this one very helpful.Definitely ordering these with my next paycheck.
what would you say if THE BEST Bang for your buck headset you've ever used?

When you're wearing the headset, does it cancel out noise or can you still hear things around you? I'm about to have a baby and i want to be able to play games, but I still want to be able to hear what's going on around me. Thanks!
ingenious138 3 months ago
@ingenious138 It cancels out a lot of noise almost to the point you cant hear anything with game sounds on. You are better off getting some open eared cans.

Lets do a headset review while wearing a hat???????????????
Were they comfortable? Did your whole ear go inside the head piece....?
startsem 3 months ago
@startsem Actually they are comfortable even with a hat. I have worn them with and without. They are very soft and cushy pads and yes your whole ear fits inside even with a hat... depending on how big your ears are. Hope this helps.

@Psylacus

Any more questions feel free to ask.
Peace

I have one of these. Unfortunately I can't hear you because of a weird driver conflict on my computer causing my headset to stop working after just a couple seconds of being plugged in!

peko165 3 months ago
hi, did the 1500 come with the leatherette ear pads (extra) in the box---i noticed that the 1300 came with leatherette ear pads but no velour type pads, i wondered if the 1500 came with both...i know their replaceable, but ionnu where to purchase either pads---thanks!
easy2mind 3 months ago
@easy2mind Hey mate, I got mine from them so I am not really certain if they were suppose to or not. Mine didn't but honestly they are pretty comfortable anyway... the squeeze pretty tight but they didn't both me. I assume Corsair will probably make them availble.
Psylacus 3 months ago

Psylacus 3 months ago
Either these review are bought and payed for. Or I’m not sitting here with the same headset.
x Bass is poor even with the lower range EQ ramped up.
x Squeezes top of head after 30 min.
x Squeezes ears after 2 hours.
x The memory foam feels “cheap” around the ear.
x Volum rocket has to massive LED lights that cannot be turnet off.
x The 50mm dosent really do its job. 40 mm are just as good.
Im sticking with my Steelseries 5H v2 and shiping these back.

I bought it and its great, but I have the problem that I only can hear the other person on the right speaker using skype
swires86 3 months ago
@swires86 hmm, that is unusual, make sure your setting in skype are right because I do not experiance that.
Psylacus 3 months ago
thanks for the fast answer, but the problem is not that uncommon, just did a google search.
maybe its not because of the headset itself, but I havent had this problem with my last ones.
anyway, nice review by the way, checked it out before I went to buy it. I especially like that its very comfortable, even for very long gaming sessions
swires86 3 months ago
@swires86 Thats probably cuz ure soundcard jack has (like mine) broke for some reason. Im going to by a new, but in the meantime, I'm adjusting the input cable to the jack in & out a little bit until I hear nice on both ears. Might not be same problem ofc... but u can give it a try.

@c0chese80 I know i know, epic fail :) my buddy said hey dude, are you wearing that program... I know lame.
Psylacus 3 months ago
@Psylacus Also, btw I broke my Logitech G35 last night, if you had a budget of <$200 what headset would you pick up? This headset is strictly for gaming. Good lookin' out.
c0chese80 3 months ago
@c0chese80 Aye, ok well i am more of a headphones and mic stand kinda guy - as you can see in some of my video's I run an AKG C414. However, for outings to lan events for the price te Vengeance 1500 is hard to beat. I am trying to get my hands on a CM Sirus (which sounded good as well for the brief bit I got to check it out). Asus also has a new set and steelseries is sending me their set as well. I know this really doesn't lay it down with which one to choose.
Psylacus 3 months ago
please don't misinform the world with false accusations. 40mm and less headphones can have more bass than 52mm's. just like a 8" sub woofer can have more bass than a 15", as a matter of fact the worlds bassist headphones are only 45mm. excursion is what makes more bass, "how much the driver/woofer moves to make low frequency sounds".
floridabowhunter 3 months ago
@floridabowhunter true but generally a larger driver generally means more base tolerance. However, material such as construction and magnet power also help... but that would be far outside of most people's budgets for headphones.
Psylacus 3 months ago
@Psylacus well you can get a pair of beyer dt 770's for around 200 which will sound better and have more bass than 95% of headphones and speakers alike.. you will need a proper amp though, a 100 dollar denon, sony, yamaha, etc a/v receiver is perfect. it is allot, but i guarantee that no one has ever regret it lol and that setup would have better positional audio than any gaming headphone ever made most likely.
floridabowhunter 3 months ago
@floridabowhunter Agree i generally use a nice pair of headphones and my AKG C414 - However these headpones are only 80-90 dollars. Gaming audio still has a long way to go before it catches up to a really nice audio solution. However, price wise I guess both you and I have sunk some serious cash... I don't regret it though ;)
Psylacus 3 months ago
@Psylacus haha yep, ive spent well over a 1000 so far on finding my audio nirvana. dt 770's and ath ad900's are my favorites. and amps are useless when you have a 24bit/192hz 7.1 denon receiver, if you run a hdmi to a gaming pc or ps3 you can have lossless 7.1 lpcm and it puts it through the headphones by converting it to stereo. now when i hear my surround sound or car speakers i cringe lol.
floridabowhunter 3 months ago
@floridabowhunter haha, ya. Audio is extremely important for me, but budget sometimes restricts. However, I enjoy all sorts of music including classical music so a great set up for sound makes all the diffrence. BTW, added a little disclaimer to the video about drivers. Thanks, your first commen was kinda harsh but I do thank you for the reminding me to clarify!

Pretty good review. Unfortunately I didn't hear much talk about the actual quality of the sound, how well the built in sound card handles positional audio, etc. Is it on par or better than the Corsair HS1's?
MrKalenjohnson 4 months ago
@MrKalenjohnson I haven't used the HS1's very much to be honest, however most people have said that the Vengeance is better.

razer megalodon or 1500?
spyrobomb 4 months ago
@Psylacus Have you ever used any steelseries headset? I'm in the market for a new headset and I'm debating whether to get the Corsair 1500 or a SteelSeries. How's the sound on the 1500's on FPS games? Like the 7.1 virtual surround and whatnot.
ayoitzdan757 4 months ago
@Psylacus So the headset is 7.1 surround sound? I don't need a 7.1 onboard sound card?
ayoitzdan757 4 months ago
@ayoitzdan757 It does have onboard 7.1, you don't need a special sound card. Download the software suite and go :)
Psylacus 4 months ago
Hey, in your opinion which headset is better. SteelSeries 5HV2 USB, or Corsair Vengeance 1500?
P.S. Are the Corsair Vengeance 1500 cables braided?
ayoitzdan757 4 months ago
@ayoitzdan757 I haven't had the chance to use the newest steelseries headset. The Corsair Vengeance 1500 is braided!

Hi, nice video!

I wear glasses and would the construction of the corsair vs the logitech g35 make a difference for me?
I need a quality contructed headset.
emosh73 4 months ago
@emosh73 I don't think so, both are good headsets, but if you like bass these are better.
If you want macro keys on your headset, you will prefer logitechs.

nice review, but just a suggestion for unboxing, it might be better to start filming when you just received it, people might want to see the packaging and what comes with it inside the box when its brand new.

oh wow you just posted this review, where did you buy your set from? I see they're sold out on amazon.. Could you comment on how much room your ears have when u wear the headset?
PlanetDip 4 months ago
@PlanetDip Hey, i didn't buy them they were given to me by Corsair to review. I reviews lots of random thing. As far as room i would say they are fairly large and rest more on my skull than my ears!

@Psylacus hey is there anyway you can tell me how to get into testing game gear, ive always wanted to try it out. any info would be great. btw liked and fav'd thanks =D
zeke247 4 months ago
@zeke247 Hey, basically I spent lots of money buying stuff to review, and event hen my channel is very small and mostly has to do with my random connections by attending tech tradeshows. Honestly it takes a lot of products, and time to produce the video's and go from there. I hardly make anything from this, I just enjoy doing it. Obviously people who click my links support me, but its a labor of love.
Psylacus 4 months ago
@Psylacus i also noticed the description you wrote for this video is identical to the one on newegg's review, was it you copying him or him copying you, or just you both times?
zeke247 4 months ago
@zeke247 Ya, its me, I love to write reviews and I post themt o Amazon, buy.com, newegg and other fine retailers. Nothing bothers me more when buying on the internet blind. When someone doens't take the time to write about the product. So whenever I buy something I write on it!
Take Care!
